is anyone familiar with the Johnnie Markup account on twitter? this is Johnnie vibes, right? who has a blog i think and was in reno last month during run it up. which really benefitted reno, i won good then and have been losing since it ended, making me second guess moving back here. went from being up 6k to down 4k. oh well.
the thing about this twitter account, i wonder if someone hacked into it if its the real Johnnie vibes or if its a troll? he is sending out Pms asking for stakes with a huge markup, which is crazy for anyone to pay. especially when theyd be better off staking me, seeing i won 2nd in the only tourney i played this year, so im second in 100% of my events and he isnt. and instead of ripping people off on the juice id give them 75% no markup. people are crazy to stake others (if those people have money). the only people it makes sense to stake are those who have too small a bankroll to afford their own buyins, (u need 100x the buyin to buyin on your own money). otherwise like someone in this thread pointed out or on twitter thread, if u buyin for 800k a year and cash only 800k a year u have just made $112,000 while all the customers u fooled into buying u in came out behind. this was at 1.4 markup. which means i should be staked because i have almost no bankroll with the exception of my next 6 months of living expenses at around $2500 to 3000 a month. but the guys who are rich and dont need to be staked, theyre not getting their money from poker, or from winning, theyre getting it from being staked and living off the markup strictly.
mainly, though, i only am posting this to try to see if its really him or some bot. the way he kept laughing and calling me ******ed i dont think its the real Johnnie vibes, for i think the real johnnie vibes would have more sense than to think id waste money in this way when i have none and have more comfidence in my abilities than his. nor do i think he would insult someone he wants a stake from
Anybody else think Trooper Thursday is coming to an end soon?
With a small poker room there is always a possibility that the room might be eliminated. Small rooms have been closing the last few years (see the LINQ, which opened and closed pretty quickly). Luxor closed right before the WSOP.
It's tough to go from a survival mindset for so long into a growth mindset.
It’s usually been a ‘live in the moment’ type of vlog and that probably has some appeal to some of his fans. You only live once so enjoy life right now, and go gamble.
Seems like some of his fans admire him because they hate their job or their boss and think he is living an easy life, and they wish they could live a similar life. But I don’t think his life is easy at all. It’s just different with its own set of benefits and challenges.
The poker probably seems like the ‘fun’ part to some, but it could easily seem like very frustrating work to him when he has to do it for the videos and doesn’t get the results he wants.
Questionable if he is better than Neeme, Owen, Burton
Would agree he is better than:
Trooper, Marle, PokerKraut, RyanDepaulo, Mr. Bill
I am assuming he is excluding guys like Negreanu, Joey and Doug from this because just lol. As far as the got famous from 2+2 vlogging crowd I would probably say Vibes is the best cash player, but I would take Boski over him in a tournament format anyday.

Really, how different would Tim's vlogs be if he stopped playing poker? He'd just have to walk, drive, boosted board, etc., to somewhere other than a poker room. The substance of the vlog would remain exactly the same.

He could substitute poker with trying to beat George Costanza's frogger high score and cry about how he missed a fly and the semi got him or he would have had it.
Would be about the same entertainment and maybe get a bigger cult following.
Incredible that the Brad/Andrew meet up game had TWELVE 2/5 games running at the Southpoint on a Tuesday night.
Not much of a surprise if you'd seen how full they were at the Westgate. Or in Phoenix months ago where they packed a room that doesn't get a lot of traffic, with wait lists almost an hour long.
Trooper should consider getting a dealing job during the WSOP. It would ease him back into the workforce.
I saw one. Why did he remove it/them? I hadn't watched it yet.
In the first vlog he teased a hand (flopped 2nd nut flush with redraw to Royal) that he said would be shown in full on a training site he is affiliated with.
People complained.
He added the second vlog of just the hand.
Guess he took them both down to re-edit the first to include the full hand.
