Johnnie,

I am not a frequent watcher of your vlogs, but the so-called poker police are way out of line here. Good luck in the series, I hope you bink a big one.

Oh please. Not everyone offering an opinion on this is outraged or playing poker police. As I stated, I consider myself a fan of Johnnie and I appreciate his content -- AND I disagree with the way he went about this package from a transparency standpoint. The messaging was off, and clearly a reaction has been provoked. I'm not outraged at all or even mildly upset, but I do think it's a fascinating thing to discuss as markup continues to creep higher in general.

JV is a notable figure who falls under the discussion allowed in this thread. People are going to have opinions about this clearly controversial decision and discuss them in this thread. Seriously, there is nothing worse than the meta-outrage people who tell everyone to calm down. Reasonable minds can disagree on this, as there are respected figures in poker who have publicly fallen on both sides of this issue. Let's not over-simplify this as a matter of haters vs. white knights.

And if I hung around any women stupid enough to get involved in MLM schemes, then yes, I would tell them they're being dumb. Fortunately I don't hang around morons.

Lol at you taking my post making fun of all the people itt white knighting the poor helpless people out there who can’t help but not understand a 1.4 markup and call it “white knighting”

Nice try Las Vegas Poker Player Vlogs

It’s the modern day internet where only polar extremes opinions get attention. If you’re in the gray area, people just overlook your opinions.

“U mad bro”. One of the gayest trash talk line since it shows that you are concerned with another man’s emotion.

Anywho, let's get back to something we all can agree on, the last Marle vlog was hot garbage wrapped in cleavage.

Deeb and other players shouldn't be tapping the glass. The entire casino and poker industry is based off of giving people bad deals and taking the profit.

Ben Deach and I had our 1st Vlog Viewers Game at the Encore in Las Vegas. We played some $1/$3 No Limit Texas Hold Em. Here are the highlights!

It is amazing how bad he is at poker and how he refuses to work at his game, get a book or two etc. Oh well just keep living off the charity you get in the mail.

I can't believe DP (when not entering the womens WSOP tournament) complains about other ppls markup?

Gonna play in the WOMENS WSOP tourney AGAIN this year Doug Polk?

If so how much markup would you charge for any pieces sold?

The poker crypto expert seems to have gone a bit quite recently (i.e. No Crypto Doug churning out pretentious drivel) maybe he'll be back on the grind now he's going busto, gotta be Ev+ to enter the womens wsop again Doug - 1.6 markup maybe?

but deeb's always struck me as a miserable kind of person so i can't say I'm surprised.

I meant it was Shaun Deeb that dressed up as a woman for the Ladies Event. I didn't make that clear.

Even though I disagree with what Johnnie did, I felt the crucifixion on Twitter was a bit overboard.

+ok no more deeb or polk in this thread unless you track down a recent vlog

they personally are welcome to post

and is the erroneous scam chat off the board now as requested by 27offuit. If not, your post and maybe you is going to be dust in the wind.

Ditto.

I’m not a big fan of his vlogs as I find him a bit too preachy, but he can charge whatever he wants and the market will dictate..

He is very preachy and hypocritical, no wonder Dnegs loves him. The problem is that he is selling action to a bunch of Volg watchers, not seasoned or pro poker players. They don't know any better. We all see some of the type of people who buy the Go Gamble hats. Those are the type of people who would buy this incredibly bad deal.

I think people oversimplify with the “market will dictate” approach. Unlike things that have been around for ages like sugar, corn, used cars, and houses, poker staking is a new and unknown commodity. The information is not available and there’s not much to compare to. So whether the price is right or wrong is still unknown. Now, just because another person is willing to pay for something didn’t make it a true market price. I’ve seen people over pay things all the time. Heck, I once paid $200 for a pair of jean. That was a poor choice looking back.

Now, as someone who has poker experience, I would never invest in staking someone else. Why? People when money is involved, you can never know what someone is capable of. And yes, I’ve been burned. I admit it. It sucks when it happens since the money is gone, but you do gain some humbling knowledge and move on.

Not just that. When you give someone money to do xyz, you’re essentially giving them your trust. How can you trust someone you’ve never met? Sure so and so can make a vlog and you watch them. But it’s edited. Just like Facebook. Things are taken out, things are amplified. So you what you watch/see can be a distorted reality. So how can you make a good decision when you may not have relevant information?
