Polk seems to agree with the sentiment in this thread

that's just one person's opinion. I would say JohnnieVibes deserves to be Vlogger of the year AINECAA.
I agree about JV. You see a little more emotion from him and Boski, which adds some entertainment value. JV gets my vote after his Embrace the Grind series. He does the traveling and the MUG's too, but people wanted to see some extended daily grinding and the results from it for a change, and he gave it to them.

Lol. You make it sound like Brad just ends up sitting behind Andrew at the tables watching Andrew play poker.

I'd say it's more of a Bo and Luke Duke relationship than it is Batman and Robin.

I do think Negreanu belongs on the list. He puts out a very high quality and high volume vlog around the time when people are most interested in watching poker vlogs. It's the other three nominees that are idiotic. (Polk would belong in the past, but he almost completely stopped making poker vlogs in 2018.)

The idea is to be one step ahead.

A couple of examples:

1) Hero notices that Villain folds to 3-bets a lot, so naturally Hero 3-bets bluff Villain more frequently (in the right situations since there are usually more players)
2) Hero notices that Villain calls 3-bets OOP a lot, so now Hero decides to 3-bet Villain with a wider value range (and this depends on the hands Villain thinks are valuable to call a 3-bet OOP)
3) Hero has great accuracy when putting Villain on a range based on his actions and can exploit Villain accordingly including post-flop situations (some players always overbet OOP with the nut flush draw for example, others play fit-or-fold on the flop, bet small with a small hand, etc.)
4) Hero can notice when Villain has adjusted to Hero's play so now Hero can re-adjust to exploit Villain's new play style and ranges

Etc...

tl;dr; I think Hero is better than Villain if Hero's play is mostly one step ahead of Villain's play (especially ranges)
My question is not how do you define whether Hero is better than Villain, but rather what can Villain do to recognize this fact.

E.g. Let's suppose Hero is exploiting Villain by 3-betting more frequently. How does Villain tell that's he's being exploited and not just playing against someone who likes to 3-bet a lot?

Re: Las Vegas Poker Player Vlogs

My initial reaction to Negreanu being *included* on the list (winning is another story) was to laugh, but he does put out a daily vlog around WSOP time and they're high quality, so I don't have a problem with him being included. Polk and Ingram even being nominated is a joke, they aren't vloggers. They need a separate category because it's obvious that anyone that puts out poker content is just being shoved into that category. Marle put out, what, 6-7 vlogs in 2018? How she got on that list over much more deserving candidates is baffling.

You're joking, right? HER nomination is the one that needs explaining?

I think Stars is just trolling Polk in their own way with his nomination.

Re: Las Vegas Poker Player Vlogs

Just some thoughts on Vlogger of the Year nominations.

It's a shame Brad Owen didn't get nominated, I think his content is quite good and his SHOCKING...YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT...CAN'T MISS!!! titles lead to absolutely crushing it in YouTube view counts. #CosmoLove

Marle is a poker Vlogger with some decent content, she deserves to be on the list over streamers but not over other better Vloggers IMO. Don't love the nomination, but I don't hate it either.

For D Negs, isn't most of his content coming from a 3 person crew that follows him around during the WSOP, edits it and then he posts it. I do remember there's the odd, dizzying selfie view as he holds his camera up, swinging it around in his house and walking his personal RIO entrance/exit to his RV. But I seem to remember far more polished camera crew content. His is almost more TV show than Vlog. But that is based off memory, because as other people noted, it's been a long time since he put one out. It's almost the WSOP again, I'll wait to see this years content rather than go back and watch 2018 to see if I'm right. I better not see him eating a vegan sandwich all loosey goosey this year.

Johnny Vibes Embrace The Grind series was terrific. I know I'm a very small minority but I find DJ'ing, Bieber style pants, vision boards... at best not my thing and at worst a little douchey. I don't like those parts of the Vlogs, but that's my personal opinion and I wouldn't expect him to change it because it's part of his life. But Embrace The Grind minimized that and really showed off his poker skills as well as the realities of grinding. It was just stellar content and he should have made the GPI list.

Jaman Burton a.k.a. Chocolate Milk just kills it. He should not only be on the list, he should win it. Solid poker, great humor, always upping his editing game. Nothing but greatness in those Vlogs.

Neeme...deserves the nomination and out of the list of posted candidates should and probably will win it. Who could argue for for any of the other nominations over him. Back to back wins is my prediction.

Re: Las Vegas Poker Player Vlogs

list is crazy, should inclue neeme, owen, burton, vibes, trooper, boski

i'd probably vote for owen lately as i enjoy his vlogs the most. least amount of filler and i'm most interested in poker content when i watch these vlogs.

burton has way too much filler and pointless transactions that just make his videos too long for my liking. they are well done though and would be a bigger fan if they were just a bit shorter.

neeme is a close second to owen for me.

vibes great production, just not my type of lifestyle kind of like what mynutslow said. wouldn't label it as douchey though lol.

trooper because he's the og and boski for his short and straight to the point vlogs. watch all of boski's because they are short and still have entertaining and useful hands and stories

I think its important to consider that Marle is the only female vlogger around right now, so she deserved to be nominated ahead of male vloggers to ensure that women are treated equally.

Even if she isn't as good as the other vloggers, we can't forget that the men started with other advantages at birth. They've obviously all benefited from male privilege their entire lives. The only way we can level the playing field going forward is to prioritize the nomination of more women in the name of equality.

Did I do it right? (social justice)

Nope. Come back when you've figured out why women get paid less for doing equal work.

Maly also exploded in subs and views more then any other poker vlogger has in the past, so I don't hate her nomination.

Good point. The fact that Marle receives less $ from youtube for her content than the male vloggers, actually does seem unfair. In light of that fact: I think she deserves a little extra help with the nominations to offset her unfairly being paid less because of her gender.

but here's the real problem.. it's not a poker vlog. she talks about hands but not really anything in-depth at all, her production is next to nothing, and I'd be shocked if every one of her subs didn't come from Vibes/Neeme.

if it wasn't for being on LAB she wouldn't have any live action to show. honestly it's a slap in the face to Brad and Jman.

Also if quantity is not being used as a factor then Haslet House Poker should be considered as that vlog, as much as any other, showed what it's like to be in the poker world.

if nothing more, those in power should be embarrassed at the response that has been received to the list. You'd think their goal would be for people to say "man that's a tough list" with everyone having a different vlogger/reason for their favorite to be the winner.

Oh, in that case my answer is simple: pay attention, be objective with the information you obtain, and make the right adjustments to exploit the other players.

Though I get what you mean. It's possible to be 3-betted 4 times in a row and think that Villain is making moves on you when in reality it's possible that Villain got premium hands 4 times in a row. Very unlikely, but possible. Or be against a Villain that loves to 3-bet everything for kicks and giggles. You just have to bite the bullet and take a stand with the right range on the right boards (make an estimate and go from there). Then make adjustments based on the information you obtain to exploit Villain.

If you don't pay attention you won't be able to make the proper adjustments to your ranges and play in order to exploit Villain or avoid being exploited.

I really like Czech Raise Charles, Cory Binks, Adam Rude and Table 2 Table. All of them play throughout the country but are interesting/funny in their own ways. I'm fairly sure Table 2 Table has given up but his are great to binge IMO.

I unsub'd from CRC a few months ago when I realized that his vlogs were nothing but of him driving in his car and explaining hands.
