I’m sure just from the shear action, that the games are great. I’m guessing free food and accommodations, but what type of cut of the rake or fee they are able to get out of the casinos? These games are much more popular than Trooper’s meet up games. Networking and expanding social media presence is a huge benefit for these guys, but I’m sure they get some decent compensation on top of that too.

Really? Have you heard what Trooper gets for just one table at the Wingate? Brad and Neeme had 15 plus tables going all night.

"Shear" action indeed. I'm sure there's a lot of shearing going on at these games!

I’ve heard $50-100 per seat through the grapevine. Not bad considering the free room and food comps on top.

I have not. How much does Trooper get?

Surely not.

27 tables x 9 = 243
X 100$ = $24,300

12k each for the night seems excessive

If you were to give them a percentage of additional rake generated by their presence, what seems fair? 10%? 25%? 50%?

If the estimations ITT were accurate on all fronts live & YouTube earnings, then being a poker vlogger with 50-100k subs = $150k+/year earnings potential.

Quit your jobs everybody, this is the most +ev gig going.

LMAO

I assume their travel, room, and board is taken care of plus at least like 500 bucks.

A female instagram "poker influencer" once told me she got 500 bucks simply for posting a flyer advertising a hole in the wall SoCal card room.

How long was the MUG? If we assume a “timed rake” is what $7/person per half hour then $14/hr. * 9 players * 22 tables = ~$2800/hr in rake * 10 hours is $28K. If I’m half wrong, that’s still $14-15K for their MUG. They’d have to get some sort of kick back on that. I wouldn’t disregard 1-2K/each. It’s possible.

I am going to talk to them about having a Mr Bill MUG there. I have heard they will proved dealers and a "private" area (probably just back in the tournament area), but charge normal rake and would seriously doubt if they are giving much, if any, of that up. Maybe some comps. The biggest thing would be to allow filming. They have done that before with some big tourneys, but I don't think they are big on it.

Probably not at a busy casino like MD Live but at a smaller place I can definitely see it. I’m sure part of the agreement is to promote the room in their vlogs

You would be pretty amazed at how much people with a lot of subs/followers can make.

I managed a $25MM internet marketing ad spend last year for a client across 12+ internet marketing mediums. Facebook, Snapchat, Google, YouTube , Taboola, Outbrain, Yahoo, you name it, I've been deep in the trenches with it, working in this industry for past 5 years now. People's guesses here into what YouTubers make is way off. Almost as far off as Social blade numbers (their estimates can be off as much as -50-60%).

I've given facts and numbers countless times here about how all of this works but speculation and wild assumptions rule supreme ITT. I'm just here for the lulz.

So are you saying that they make more or less? I know that alot of YouTuber wasn't happy when the YT change the paid out structure and creators are getting paid less.

Johnny Vibes "embrace the grind" series was one of the best. Hats off Johnny!

I don't understand the value of these vlogs. Why are they popular at all, and why are they discussed so seriously here? Some alluring subculture thing? It seems like you could vlog about daily bathroom habit and it would have similar content. Gotta include drone footage somehow...gross.

If your hobby is going to the bathroom and you can't make it there every week, sure why not?

For some inexplicable reason, I feel compelled to offer you a serious answer. You can't possibly be serious and this unaware.

Most of us aren't professional poker players. We don't grind live tournaments or cash games. The vloggers that do, especially the good ones, open the door to what it's like: the lifestyle, the play, the issues, and the complexities of making a living this way. They also provide interesting poker hand and strategy content, much of it unique to the live game. And some vloggers are able to add cinematography chops and musical scores that enhance the viewing experience.

There. I allowed myself to be trolled.

Hey thanks for trying. I see things through a narrow lens, I'll just say that. I view Neeme and Marle as the two frontier vlogs, yet one is mostly sketch bits, and the other (might be wrong) never records a losing session. They seem particularly non genuine. Johnny Vibes is really cool, the problem I see is repetition which is where I don't understand the returning customers.

I'm curious as well what the kick back is for the MUGs. I'd imagine it's a percentage of rake from each MUG table (travel and lodging expenses covered as well).

Just a guess but I don't know much about the inner workings of a card room.
