I don’t want you to think that I won’t give you the respect of answering this but it’s gonna be a little later on. It’s a bit surprising to me that this is the line you’re taking when I’m not the only one who showed disapproval. You just seem defensive about some other dude taking his shot and missing

I'm basing my opinion on what she actually said, so I suppose that's the line I'm taking. You seem to be basing it on what you think she meant by what she said and also inferring things based on what she didn't say. Maybe there is more to it but I'm reluctant to call people sucky fathers based on inference and mind-reading.

So, Marle's vlog came on leading out of Neeme's vlog according to my Youtube randomizer.

She is 100% stealing Chris D'elia's style in the beginning part. It was as if I saw a not funny version of his vlog/podcast thing. Not unusual for someone who is trying to become a stand up, whether they're funny or not.

Rest of the vlog was actually interesting. The bad beat "joke" about her mom's suicide actually made me chuckle a little. She is much more interesting being more real. Not quite Neeme or Jaman interesting in my opinion, but I would watch more vlogs if they were like this.

So yeah, there's that.

I’ve never heard Neeme or Jaman open up about their personal lives the way she did.

Never noticed the lump until Marle pointed it out and I can still barely tell it's there. Her life story suggests to me that she uses humor as a defense mechanism.

To me its a no-brainer why he gets more views on his vlogs than anyone else. He is always professional and positive. Seems that would be more attractive to a wider audience.

Have played 5-10 with him in Vegas a few times. The things he mentions in the article about keeping the table friendly and loose I have seem him implement in person. I don’t know him but he is very good for the game.

Totally agree. While I've seen him get quiet at the table at times and just focus on his game without interacting much, from what I hear that is during a minority of his sessions. If the table is lively, Neeme definitely contributes and keeps the good vibes going.

I 100% agree that he is professional and that is a big plus in any career. I hope he can take his poker and vlogging and any other projects he pursues to a high level.

That describes almost ever Millennial and younger. Just look at the way they communicate and text each other or post to Instagram/facebook. I swear to god I almost hurl in cring every time I see that crying face laughing emoji posted by someone when they are doing something awkward or humble bragging. Don't belive me, just look at the Cring subReddit.

Most “lol” or “haha” after every statement. And self expression is “I’m like”. And the hyperbole of everything that happens to them ...“worst flight EVER!!!” Or everything is the “greatest” at the moment.

Now my wife is a millennial but doesn’t talk or act like this. But the majority of people who acts/talks like this are millenials. And yes, it’s a generalization. And no, I’m not apolozing for it.

In a world where people will **** on you for any nuance in your personal character, you might as well use humor for a defense mechanism. It makes pain way easier to deal with. By looking at everything with sarcastic, self-depricating lenses, you begin to see the ridiculousness in people and situations. It's one of the highest levels of self-reflection that most people never get to because of their own ego. The funniest thing about it all are the olds that think millennials mean everything that they say in hyperbole and get upset about it.

Pocket Zeros,

Thanks for your patience. I think what we have here is a difference in backgrounds affecting each opinion. These are the points I’m focused on when I said Marle’s dad sort of sucks as a dad:

-He took his 12 year old daughter out of school to move to Vegas to chase a dream career he had already struggled with in NE per Marle’s story. Taking a 12 year old across the country during their formative years to chase a hobby you want to turn into a career is a selfish move. A move that resulted in

- He busted his roll within 2 years and by 14 they were back in Boston living at her Grandparents house. Sometimes people move in with family during translations that’s not a big deal except...

-instead of restarting his career he becomes a stage dad for his 14 year old and drives her from exploitive audition to audition and living off her earnings (I’m not sure what else he could have been living off based on her story)

-He creates an environment where it’s OK to uproot your kids’ life and turn it upside down chasing your hobby and if you go busto you just keep at it.

-it’s not a surprise based on that that she floated around NYC trying to make entertainment work then moved on to Poker, got staked, it didn’t go well, her backers wanted her to quit and instead she keep trying to make it work. I admire her persistence and work ethic to try and make it work, though.

As a parent, I find her Dad’s decisions based on her story to be selfish and putting her and their family in some tough spots. You may see it differently based on your life experience but that’s how I saw it and thought “he did kind of suck” to be a fair and reasonable assessment. He may be a really fun and cool guy but I wasn’t impressed with the story of the spot he put her family in.

Maybe to you it’s totally OK to quit your job with a 12 year old kid you’re raising, chase poker in NE, fail, move to Vegas and fail again, move back to NE and not find a new career and let your now 14 year old daughter work as a model instead. That’s not good parenting in my opinion and experience and it’s not really debatable, but I respect and appreciate and accept your view as valid.

I have not been fortunate to play at enough card/poker rooms to know but I hear the same thing. It can be a challenge when the tables are SOOOO soft that that create a HARD time for you as a good player!

I once knew a single mom who left the northeast area to cone to down south to pursue a poker career. After not working out, she moved back home only to take her life shortly after, leaving behind a little girl. Sad situation all around.

That’s very sad guys and I’m really sad to hear that. Many in oot keep trying to help and support MLYLT for the very reason I believe that they fear with her mental illness that she could end up with a similar tale :/

Nat,

Based on how you tend to choose to interact with others within this forum, I don’t like your personality (at all). That being said, every word written by you in the above post was spot-on...that is, the dad was and probably still is, a total P.O.S.

In Youtube search, type in either of these two search terms: Vegas Poker or Las Vegas Poker...when I do this, Trooper comes up as the top result for both sets of keywords. He’s def getting some extra views & revenue out of this favorable situation.
