Whey you're posting a 45 min video?

That's not a vlog, that's a half-length documentary!

He is one of our future vloggers

ya...i was kinda like fuggg...this is way too long...but just gonna post it and move on to another one rather than rehash through stuff i had already worked on. if nothing else i think it has its' entertaining moments and the hand history vids that go with it should be good.

Whey is using the best camera/lenses! Instead of speeding through the juicing you'll learn to utilize cuts better and cut through that scene, you'll learn quickly how you can use editing to really lead the story

EDIT: Also plenty of "unneeded" shots that you could just scrap but I get it's the first go around and you put a TON of time and work into it so you wanted to share as much as possible! Also many shots are too long, you only need a second or 2 tops of "b-roll" (scenery type) shots once they push into 3+ seconds they are too long. The human brain is trained for fast cuts and lots of information; so when we first start shooting and editing content we have a tendency to hold on shots much longer than needed because we want to make sure the viewer sees everything we meant for them to see. However, the viewer is trained to take the whole shot in and process it in about 1 to 1.5 seconds.

i agree 100%, i also found that it's better to plan it out ahead b/c when editing each individual piece it seems ok then in the bigger picture it willl be too short/too long/fit wrong but at that point it is much harder to go back in and change after all the layers have been tweaked ect

Some other notes I had from Ryan's first vlog:

-Ryan is much more humble and charismatic than his screen-name and avatar would suggest. Seems like a pretty grounded, down to earth guy just trying to have a good time and get along in the world.

-Despite the marathon first video he has kept me interested throughout with just a couple of small jump aheads. It would be smart to consider cutting up about 7-10 mins of this first video for a Channel Introduction Video

-Put your titles/text that are in the middle of the video in one of the corners (traditionally lower but not required) and use a font that use's a black outline on the white text so that it pops.

-The shaky video during the walking doesn't bother me because I'm use to it but if you want to significantly cut it or eliminate it put your DSLR on a Scorpion rig (about 30 bucks at Best Buy/Samy's Camera) or a monopod (around the same price but varies) and that will do a ton for smoothing out walking/movement shots.

-Shoot for 15 minutes, allowing yourself to go up to 20 minutes on next weeks video. See how that works as a goal/benchmark for editing down

-I am your first subscriber!

Whey,

I'd say that you butchered the KhQh hand at 11:08 quite a bit. This is a pretty good board to cbet. Lots of cards give us additional equity and villain's calling ranges are going to be pretty wide. The turn is 100% a bet and can get called by all sorts of worse hands including pair and straight draw type hands and flush draws. It's nearly criminal to check back that turn.

Also, in the previous hand you opened with 73off. It's ok to fold some buttons. I suppose if you are super deep this can work but in general i'd toss these cards in the muck (and I have a very high VPIP from the button), especially when you consider rake.

BTW, by saying they will call pretty wide on the flop I'm saying that many of the made hands in their calling range won't be able to call a big turn barrel.

i tend to agree with you about cbetting that flop but after missing the cbet flop and being against just the small and big blinds i thought better chance of getting one of them to call light with a small pp type hand or some xJ that checked flop (disregarding the fact that a J did come on river eventually) on an innocuous river after i check through 2 streets than betting the K turn

Just finished watching the first vid. I thought you did a nice job and I can't really add much to the excellent feedback that Natamus already provided.

One thing I will say though is that the only reason that I sat through the entire 44 minutes was because I knew you from this forum. I can't imagine that some random person who happens to come across your video on YouTube (perhaps because he's interested in either poker or Las Vegas) is going to click on it and sit there for 3/4 of an hour. If it is still possible, I would recommend that you re-edit the video and break it up into two, or preferably three, separate videos. I think that you'll definitely get more views that way.

I'm looking forward to watching the other content you're planning to put up on your channel as well, such as restaurant/hotel/casino reviews.

Please give times of these shots in the video. Haven't watched yet but not sure if I have 45 min available. I'll have to break it down into a few sessions.

Wheydacheese.

Few pointers.

No more 45 min vlogs. I could only give enough attention to speed through it. 10-15 mins is plenty per episode if you want people to watch it
try to film the poker action like Andrew Neeme does and fast forward through hands you dont play.

Goodluck
