I wonder how long it will be before the room closes. It’s not like anyone expects the room to be open for a long time.

Yes-and you need to rethink your definition of profit-they are giving Tim 1/2 of the first tables revenue and 25% of any additional tables-the good Dr is correct

Hosts of games don’t work for free. He’s got to get something out of it. Whatever deal he has can be debated, but he’s not doing it for free that’s for sure.

Whatever his ever dwindling cut is the Westgate has to be rethinking the arrangement. Its one table for a few hours once a week. Free food and staffing to accommodate his two friends and 3 others. Probably not what they hoped would happen.

i know someone who hosted a game and got half of the rake. granted it was a casino on the east coast, but trooper getting half wouldn't be shocking.

They always have at least one table going and two on the weekends. During NFL games and big sporting events they have 4+. Not bad for an offstrip casino that is pretty dead all of the time.

I am in the sportsbook every now and then and look at the poker room and usually see 1 game about to start or playing. The same old man is always in seat 3 I believe. lol

If Trooper was bringing in multiple tables then I can see him getting a big cut. Now, it's him and a few of his buddies. It wouldn't surprise me if at this point they are just giving them free food or comps.

In Trooper's video today. He stops at Starbucks for coffee on the way to an early morning meeting at a donut shop where he gets coffee.

I get that he is an addict and needs a lot of coffee but why not make his own blend at home and take it with him, saving $4, saving 15 minutes, and having a superior product?

Nope, goes to Starbucks. lol

I remember watching his vlogs a few years ago and people would send him starbucks gift cards. Assuming they still do, he probably has a lot of starbucks credit to spend.

So, on a typical Thursday before the arrangement with Trooper they likely made zero dollars in rake. Now, with Trooper, even though the number may be getting smaller from last year it's still a profit number greater than zero.

Why would they rethink it to go back to making zero dollars? Concerned about moving into too high of a tax bracket? They hate making money? They don't want the dealer to do anything besides a dead spread?

Please give me a good reason to take a profitable situation and move it to a non profitable situation other than the fact you don't like Trooper.

What is “Go Gamble’s” return policy? Nothing listed on his store site. Likely a no refund policy as Troop wouldn’t be able to resell the merchandise.

Rethink arrangement as in:

Lower cut for him unless he brings more players? Countless changes could be made to incentivize him to market better. Which would make it more “profitable”.

Not everything is black or white.

Cmon man.

So they're taking in enough rake to cover staff and other overhead with one table running? I think not.

Westgates draw is it's sportsbook and it will always be that way. From the looks of what people are saying, the poker room wont be around for much longer.

I think they have low overhead. There's no full time dealers and they have one guy usually running things. I've played there with the same dealer for 5 hours once with her occasionally clocking out and being replaced by the floor guy for a couple of hands. This causes problems some time at Trooper Thursday as they have no dealers and need to call people up to come in.

I don't think the floor guy is even full time since I've seen him also working at Golden Nugget.

I’m obviously no expert but troopers video editing skills seem to be top level compared to other top vlogs. I watched jovial return or whatever out of boredom and the intro seemed A+.!

He’s just not progressed, kind of a loser, and doesn’t keep his word so I see why people hate on him.

All things considered tho, if he was crushing poker and moving up in stakes he would for sure be one of the most viewed and most popular.

His verball skills are embarrassing and he explains things with the analysis of an eleven year old. Hearing “YO” and “sh.t” every minute with not much in between is kinda sad for a fifty year old man.

My favorite of late was when he was headed to a 7am meeting and got in his car at 7:0am LOL

Kind if like being late for the PokerKraut weigh in. Just couldn't make it on time.

Again, it's a simple math equation. If the room is open, and it is, and there are no tables going I'm guessing there is one dead spread sitting there in case people show up. Perhaps they schedule no dealers (unlikely) for times like that, but the room is still open. The lights are on, there is a manager on duty. Overhead for lights, managers, etc... is fixed and doesn't change based on no tables, one table or ten tables.

Let's assume for the sake of argument they don't have a dealer on staff when they expect no tables. How much does overhead go up when they have to call a dealer in? I'm guessing, the hourly cost of the dealer.

Do I think even getting 50% rake for the house for one table covers the cost of the dealer? Yes, yes I do, after likely two hands.

If the room is going to be open, and it may not be for long but it currently is, then Trooper makes them plus money when he's there for Trooper Thursday. It may not be life changing money, but in the corporate world some money is much better than no money.
