important announcements? I don't see how this is good for viewers...I been subscribed to Neeme since before 5k subs and I unsubscribed today. I appreciated the vegas lifestyle and semi raw look into life of someone who made it starting from 1/3 in expensive cities but seeing it corporatized/manufactured is just very un appealing to me (I find Jcarver and staples completely cringey ).

Why the OG is and always will be the best poker "vlog" since you are getting near completely raw look into someone who makes every possible wrong decision and still out there surviving and grinding (and great Vegas shots to boot). long live (probably not with his BoostedBoard and diet lol) the king

I'll be honest and say that I enjoyed the reflection that he did in this vlog. I think it finally hit him that his vlog, and his life, have gotten old and boring. He needs a break, which he is finally taking, and a major reboot.

I hope he takes whatever time off that he needs and finds a way to change things up in a big way. The worst thing that he can do is take a week or two off and then go right back to his usual life, which I feel is what is coming this way based on his history.

I think I'll check in after a week or so and see if he makes some life changes. Even growing a beard would be a small change. He looks better when he's not clean shaven. Less like a spooked, chubby kid and more like an older adult.

Holy smokes! Mr. Ducks back with guns a' blazin

This is a good way to describe it. Andrew is probably the only vlogger I've watched that is clearly vlogging for purely selfish reasons. To make it worse, he has this fake nice guy persona where he pretends to care about his audience. The guy just reeks of insincerity in everything he does.

I’ll take a wait and see approach with this partnership. Never been a fan of Somerville so hopefully he’s behind the scenes and not in every vlog.

I guess I just don’t “get” Twitch. Probably more of a 20-something thing or a gamers platform. Poker live-streams aren’t all that appealing are they? Unless the commentary is awesome. That’s why I think that the vlogs are great. Less is more I suppose.

Everyone else was talking about it so I watched it. Two things:

1. It’s Groundhog Day. Unsubbed months ago and was reminded of why pretty quick.
2. It’s all become a “job” to him now. He failed to realize that doing it as often as he does made it just like every other 9-5. And he seems to be bored with it (lack of creativity) and now stuck with it as it’s anywhere from some to most of his income (between the channel, the gear and Thursday’s @ Westgate). It’s become what he didn’t want it to be and he’s burning out because of it.

I don't understand what you mean by this. How do you determine what another person's motivation for doing something is unless they state it or give you strong evidence of it?

Even if Neeme's reasons were "selfish", that would just basically mean that he is looking to have success and money from making his vlogs. What is wrong with that? It seems to me that those are the goals of most poker vloggers.

Yeah. I tried to watch and was not entertained.

And then you have an entire generation of streamers getting into the game.

I think The OG kind a took a stab at this. The fun part was trolling him and asking him questions. It takes a certain personality to keep an audience. I tried to watch Jamie Staples a few times but could not subscribe to the appeal. Dude that lives in his van in LA, Rickcheckmaster is trying this and I could watch a wacked out personality such as his.

Trooper could start a OMT, old man twitch movement

i don't know, i usually default to the whole "this dude is fake" opinion, but Neeme has always struck me as a pretty genuinely good and thankful dude.

This. I almost never give people the benefit of the doubt, but Neeme seems genuine.

You say "selfish reasons" that like it is a bad thing. There are only three reasons I can think of to vlog and my guess is all vloggers are motivated by a mixture of the 3:

1. Make money
2. Get attention/fame and build your brand
3. You enjoy the process of creating vlogs and interacting with your audience

All of these are "selfish" reasons. I seriously doubt that any of the vloggers are creating their vlogs solely for the benefit of their audience and don't care about making money or getting attention and don't derive any enjoyment from the vlog creation process. But why does it bother you if they have "selfish motivations?" They benefit by satisfying some combination of the above 3 motivations and we benefit by the entertainment, a win-win. I like Neeme and his videos and will continue to watch as long as they entertain me and I hope he experiences a lot of success along the way. If his partnership causes the videos to make a less entertaining turn I might stop watching but certainly wont hold it against him on a personal level. Also I don't agree with the fake nice guy comment. I don't know Andrew personally but I imagine if he was a secret douche it would have been reported in this thread. The midstakes Vegas community is pretty small and most of them are 2+2ers.

Twitch is where the money is for content creators. Not YouTube.

With that said, no one deserves all of the success that can come with a successful twitch venture more than Andrew. I've watched every vlog since day one and the universe has it's way of rewarding hard working, genuine people. I wish him all the success in the world with a cross branded venture w/ J. Somerville & twitch.

Twitch isn't my cup of tea, and I personally can't relate/connect with the majority of the "personalities" in poker outside of the handful of vloggers that I watch. So I don't think I'll be migrating over to Twitch to follow, but I'm only one person. This will be a very good thing though for Andrew's expansion and I wish him the best.

He's the gold standard when it comes to staying humble, being open to new ideas, and leveraging the power of networking. You can apply these three principles to anything in life and become successful.

I subscribed to Neeme in the first 100 people so definitely a bit of a fan boy having seen everyone of his Vlogs along his journey....

If theres 2 people in the world that give me pain to listen to its Jamie Staples & Jason Somerville

Cant believe Neeme has teemed up with him. Hopefully doesnt show up in the Vlogs regularly.

Can anyone explain to me how this is going to help Neeme save time? Only thing I can see is he will now be plastered in Run It Up logos. Are they going to be doing the editing etc for him? If so, thats a shame, they wont be able to replicate what Neeme does by himself

Must have been the outtake video leaked on TMZ!

I enjoy the vlogs and look forward to more however you chose to do it.

Benefit of the doubt only comes into play when there's something to doubt.

Now, I have not met or seen Neeme personally, but he's been in this vlogging game a couple years now, has played hundreds/thousands of hours of live poker, has held dozens of meet up games, and (as far as I know) there hasn't been a single bad interaction with him to be made public. If there had been an allegation that he treated someone like crap, then that's where you'd have to give benefit of the doubt. But there's literally been nothing to doubt so far.

Haters gon hate, I guess. I mean, I'm as cynical a guy as they come, and even I'm not miserable enough like some ITT to just assume that someone who appears to be a genuinely good guy must have nefarious ulterior motives or that he's actually a horrible person in real life, with literally zero supporting evidence. I mean, an actual good guy in poker? Impossible! Clearly he must club baby seals during his offtime, right?

tl;dr on the Neeme/Somerville collaboration? Is Neeme going to be streaming online poker on twitch? Doing vlogs with Somerville?

They said yes, Jason's team will be doing the editing, and I agree.

To me it sounds like he scooped up Andrew and his viewers to grow his Run it Up brand but I don't think a vlog viewer is going to jump to Twitch that easy (especially older views), or be happy with a commercialized vlog.

I briefly met Andrew at the airport when he was about to board a plane. He was courteous, and talked with me for 4 or 5 minutes and was a genuinely nice person. Everything I've ever read/heard about him is consistent with my experience.

If people don't like his vlog because it is changing too much or because he's now with Run it up, then that's their prerogative. But don't hate on a genuinely good person who is just trying to succeed and has done nothing wrong along the way.

I guess it's the internet...but you have 2 OG vloggers.

Trooper - often gets knocked for making poor life/business decisions.

Neeme - getting knocked for making what may very well be a good business decision.

Sigh, can't win these days.
