I was surprised at how upset he was. Going out in a flush over flush situation has to be one of the least embarrassing ways to go out, especially for someone that’s not a pro.

Flush over flush with, was it 180BBs deep? Not great.

Vibes was right, either he bluffin with the Ad or he had the nuts and I believe Glen was playing his hand pretty face up also, so a bluff would be ballsy. would you ever try to bluff a tourist off a flush? please

So Glen calls an ep open out of the BB, flops a combo draw, and he's supposed to c/c bc deep stacked and early in an mtt?

I agree leading is bad, but that's an easy c/r spot imo. Then V is going to shove and you still have to call with your combo draw.

I'd really like to hear the rest of the conversation on how not to go broke there? Bc to me it seems the only way is if the V slows down the action (just calls the c/r) and then jams over the top when you hit the flush....then maybe you can consider getting away, but how much have you already committed?

Just watched Negreanu's vlog from today, and it was indeed one of the most interesting poker vlogs I've seen.

He folded to a couple of the 3bets and then flatted with AJ and bluff x/r'd flop.

That’s my point though. Glen is obviously not good and players like him are going to lose their stacks in spots like that. Trooper plays hands so horribly that I often laugh but this situation was not like that at all, even though I didn’t like the bet on the flop.

The flop hits villains range hard so that’s why there wasn’t more talk about a c/r.

For those who dont want to watch vlog and want to know what happened

G in BB with K10 with I think approx 9000chips
Completes an UTG raise with 2 callers

4 to flop - pot 625

Flop AQ6

G leads out 600 - really bad for a rec player. and as usual, an early mistake usually compounded by the end
fold, fold, button called
Pot 1825

Turn 2
G bets 1400, button calls - I guess now as is, ok.
pot 4625

River Brickcity (G has about 7000 chips behind)

G bets 3000 and boom raised.- You have to realise how strong your own hand looks and fold then spew

check raising that flop feels like suicide 4 ways to a flop..... about 0.00001% fold equity here. What are you trying to do here, fold out an A, with your **** range from the complete in the BB? lol

table full of recs, check call flop and lead turn

I like c/c the flop the best. But my thing is after that...you're probably getting stacked.

It was the way Glen reacted that is more donkish. Crying on camera made me lol. Plus lets not forget his tilt spew at encore where even Johnnie was embarressed. The point is, this guy looks like he doesn't have the mental game down, which is the first thing an amateur needs to learn, even before the strategy part.

He jammed a combo draw and bricked, right?

I've never understood the tap-dance that people get into over showing weak/bricked hands when it's on them to show. It's not going to be the last time it happens. Just turn them over and get it over with. Quit slowing the game down.

Just to clear some things up. We basically asked Glen what he wanted to do while he was in Vegas. After all, we wanted him to have fun first. He said it would be his number 1 wish to play the tag team with us, and secondly he just wanted to play poker and get coached. We had plan to do some fun touristy stuff but he wanted intensive poker boot camp. So that’s what we gave him. I wasn’t planning on playing this event, but I wanted to show Glen a good time. So I regged us with my brother and Kristy. They are seasoned tourney players so the plan was for Glen and I to play a few hours to start the tournament and let Andrew and Kristy bring it home while we went back to the cash game grind.

The episodes aren’t scripted. It’s just real life playing out.

Also the coaching was about when to donk lead, when to check call, and when to check raise. We never even made it past the flop because this was a 45 minute discussion.

Ambitious! But we all make mistakes. Hopefully he can digest it all and come back next summer swinging.

Glen is prolly thinking he needs to be making moves like the "pros" without understanding when its a good spot and when its god awful.

Rhymes with Boski but has an L in it.

Which, if he actually said that, is another reason some of us who were supporters of Trooper are no longer in that camp.

I'll be in Vegas in a couple weeks and want to do a stand in, I'll even wear a "No Gamble" hat to complete my journey to the Dark Side.
