You think winning poker players cannot be bothered or cannot hire help to produce revenue ancillary to their poker winnings ?

1. Recreational hobbies, sports, gaming etc are cool and we all do it. But what if I told you - your hobby would cost you 10-30% of your monthly income. Idk how many would.

2. Other than industry standard monetization through ad rev and sponsorships, if youre referring to shady practices like promoting clubs and private games, this shouldn't be in the discussion. Also self branding rarely works in poker. Just scroll through all the unknowns on instagram #poker and tiktok #poker where they give hand breakdowns.

3. If youre referring to passive income, you're better off spending 30 hours grinding poker and putting that money into an index fund than ever putting 30 hours into editting and hoping that YT content blows up. This is superior passive income that we can all agree on pragmatically.

I did light research on this topic and a lot of the cheaper editors at like $30/vid production, would maybe give you 50-100 cuts/edits per video. I once asked the guy for what I really wanted, and he said we were looking at $150-200++/video due to the demand of cuts I needed. How many people can justify $200/video hiring cost x [videos per month]?

You can't hire people to edit your vlogs for you, if you're struggling to get by. And most poker pros are. Unless youre Daniel Negranu or Dougie Polk. The reason people do vlogs is to dream to be outliers like Brad Owne and Rampage one day. But ultimately most are paying the price by wasting time in something that most likely will dead end in terms of generating income.

Maybe this is not entertainment and just sleep in the movie theater since the Red Rock rooms are so expensive and it too hot for car sleep? It could appear under lodging.

You just opened a cheat code for Rice.

Red Rock Cinema is way cheaper than RT airfare and pocket bread in San Fran in an attempt to avoid weekend hotel prices in Vegas.

Yeah that's fair, the biggest games that run regularly in the casinos around me are 2/5. 99% of the people look like Diesel or some other poker stereotype.

The solid regulars are all driving **** boxes and wear ratty hockey jerseys and hats they picked off the street that fell out of a conference swag bag. Looks like an absolute miserable existence.

This actually sounds like a decent amount of 5/10 grinders I've seen.

Tbf the average American is very underdressed when you compare to our international counterparts. At least thats how I felt while traveling and thinking back to how we dress in the states.

LMAO

And next up he will do a series of challenges sleeping in Greyhound bus terminals and making bisque consisting entirely of condiments pocketed from various places along his travels.

Also i guess we can have a possible carcrash waiting to happen when Diesel eventually cant handle being told he is not correct by his boss ,or blowing up after getting heat from grumpy players.
I enjoyed her videos as well although if you added up her entry fees and subtracted her rare cashes they painted quite the sobering picture of how to get destroyed playing MTTs.

Seems like with recliner seats and the $18 / month unlimited Regal Cinema plan would completely replace airbnb and vacation

Check out Friday at 11 am then stay in the theater until Sunday afternoon check in.

To be honest, I am shocked, I didn't think Rice watched anything newer than sitcom reruns of 'The King of Queens'.

I have a hunch Rice is gonna figure this out.
Most cinemas you can jump from one screening to the next, and never get caught. Stay/sleep all day, out of the heat.

Right so players interested in progressing in their career either need to move or never started at your casino in the first place. The guys left either have no interest in career progression or don’t have the ability to compete at higher stakes. You’re surrounded by slackers and midwits (mostly talking about the pros, I’m sure there are interesting recs at 2/5).

Obvious there are still slobs at 5/T, but on average professionalism increases as you move up in stakes.

I watched his #12 at the doghouse and was surprised by him freaking out about the set < flush hand.
on a 9 high board with a nut flush draw, that is a jam almost every time. the player with the draw jammed, not called. Valdez had a set on the flop. guess what, top set is not the nuts. it's the lead with two cards to go but there are 8 outs twice to the literal nuts. flushes beat sets, that's how it goes.
and then he couldn't believe that good players regularly folded to his huge bets. people don't always go GTO. doesn't matter if they only have to be good 1/5 times, in a small sample it's better just to be correct 100% of the time.

anyway I was just annoyed with how he talked about that hand the whole video long. he took a bad beat. we know. and it wasn't even a shock.

Today Diesel compares his poker goals to what a golfer said 18 years ago, the golfer was meeting all his goals, which were playing golf for a living no matter if he won any tournaments, etc.

Diesel has no ambition to play even $1000 buy in game, much less play any WSOP tournaments ever or win a big tournament, etc. he is playing poker for a living (according to him) and that's all he wants. lol

Oh, and planning his meals he will cook in his room also. lol

Rice's ultimate comeback to anyone is calling them miserable. If anyone should actually be miserable it is Rice. The fact he appears not to be only serves as testament to the depths of his self delusion.

That he compares his aspirations in poker to that of Jeff Ogilvy's aspirations in golf is beyond hilarious.

Rice just wants to nit it up and grind promos and comps to make what he considers to be risk free money. As long as he can say that he's a professional poker player then he's as happy as can be, earning under minimum wage.

He literally can't set the bar any lower in terms of making a living from poker. But I guess when making up some disgusting jambalaya in a rice cooker and watching YouTube videos all day long is his idea of paradise then he doesn't really need to do much else.

It isnt humanly possible to be more detached from reality than Rice i suppose? Like it cant right?

At last combined with the lifestyle he lives compared to the average person, its mind boogling really. I know several dogs in my nearby streets that eats better than Rice, people in prison too for that matter.

Also absolutely hilarious how he prides himself being a pro pokerplayer, when he have to starve himself for days to survive, sleeping in his car or roaming around in San Fran in the rain for 14 hours to avoid paying for hotel room at weekend rates.

I agree,

Rice has nothing in his life that an average person would consider a pleasure.

He is clearly a masochist who creates a venue for abuse and derision.

The world is conversing on American fashion for better or worse.

Planned obsolescence.

Rice doesn't want to play bigger, but the smallest games are getting bigger.

The only thing he can rely on, for now, is free rolls to up his hourly.
