Like look at what Mariano says at the end "i can just as well have KK/AA there when i blast off 3 streets". Sure he can have that, but with his wide 3 bet frequenzy against a button open+blasting off for multiple streets postflop with that wide range he have alot more bluffs and airballs than valuehands in that spot.

This is what happens usually when you run like god for a good while, and then the downswing hits. The pain is too much to handle at some point. You arent thinking cleary, starting to justify bad plays to yourself ++.

Edit: The way to exploit a calling non believing station like Rampage is to bluff LESS, not more.
true which includes value betting wider

Sponsors/other peoples money = not entertaining

The reason Mariano’s recent vlogs have been really good is because you can feel his pain through the screen, the kind of pain that can only be felt if you are playing on your own dime.

Trooper with a new video, with old content. Maybe he went dark because of that TT session 10 days ago.

His TT videos are sooooooo cringe-worthy, displaying his "entertaining host" persona. That, plus he's back to schlepping lollipops and incorporating "got some of that *fill-in-word* action going" into what feels like every sentence. Ugh...... Why do I torture myself watching this loser?

El Diesel is very risk-averse and therefore won't overtrade or break discipline on the position sizing. They can start him with a 100k portfolio, with strict money management rules, and force him to make a short explanation of why he enters and exits certain trades. If he does well after a year, then they can bump him up to a million dollar bankroll....and so on.

I'm serious. He can be an "experimental" hire.
Machines make all the trades so there is no human discipline involved. I don't think he would fit into a Brooks Brothers suit.

Money managers hire physicists/mathematicians/CFAs.

Can you name any restaurant on earth that would hire el diesel as a waiter?
Would you want el diesel and his beard serving your food ?

Definitely, but I think he enjoys traveling around and living in hotels. And I think he loves that poker pays his bills. I don’t think he’s looking for any kind of normal, steady job.

No wonder why Trooper been radio silent for awhile.

https://youtu.be/tsccjEgSchQ?t=735
Trooper: 'We had a good night.' 'It was fun' 'We had a fun Trooper Thursday.'

Edit: The Vlog we just watched was for the Trooper Thursday, July 28th.

I was browsing my YouTube recommendations on an account where I rarely watch anything poker related. I received a recommendation to watch a video titled "Inside the Mind of a Poker Player." That sounds like a topic that could be super interesting, even to someone with a very casual interest in poker. I then noticed the Trooper icon to the left and looked at the big head in the photo and realized this is probably just another Trooper Thursday video (it was).

I didn't actually watch the video, but 1.8k people have in the last 5 hours. In YouTube terms, that's not a lot of people but presumably that's still over a thousand people who wasted over 10 minutes of their life watching this crap. This sort of video is like the bottom basement of content that you can find on YouTube (at least when considering real channels that are trying to produce content with some level of quality). It's not funny, informational, or entertaining in any way.

There is so much great content on YouTube and other platforms that it makes one wonder how people end up watching this crap (other than clickbait titles)? I think part of the problem is that once people watch a video, or worse, after they watch and subscribe then they keep getting recommended these crap videos. It doesn't take much for one's YouTube feed to get clogged with videos from these low-content channels. Once that happens you are no longer being recommended the amazing videos that hundreds of thousands or even millions of people watch on a daily basis.

I guess my point is that many viewers are not being as diligent as they should be in managing their recommendations. Be proactive by identifying content that is not entertaining to you and removing it from your life. Don't get sucked into the low-content craphole that YouTube can become if you let it.

And none of them can beat the S&P 500 Index long term. Saying you work at a hedge fund is just an easy out for not being able to beat the market. Because by design, hedge funds arent designed to beat an index.

CFA's are a dime a dozen these days. All you need is programmers and math guys to do the algo's for robo investing. People like Selbst will soon be utterly useless.

Oh yeah I remember that part. I guess he did the flashback because he ran into some fans that brought it up? I dunno. But Boski has already gotten Covid. I can see as a pro poker player being disgusted hanging around some of these shower adverse players.
