On all 3 videos he shows himself riding a lot around on that scooter and almost never wearing a mask (he only did it when he was told to). I saw him there in person last night and he did the same thing.

Seriously who "hates" Rampage
Everyone loves Rampage the guy
People just hate how he plays way over his head and dumps money when he could be crushing 2-5

I've followed this thread for almost a year and no one hates Rampage.

Now Trooper, people HATE that guy here

It sounds cliche to say something made your day, but this definitely did. Thanks for more great content, good luck at the tables, and please find a way to somehow outdo yourself next episode.
Did you happen to notice the book he was reading? "S_eleton Crew" by Stephen _ing! Hmmm, what's missing?

It's funny cuz in just a couple years he's made more money in poker than probaly the majority of people regularly posting in this thread have made the entire time they've been playing and also played stakes and done things that same majority have probaly dreamt of accomplishing much longer than he's actually been playing.

Yeah he's got some leaks but he's also got some heart and ain't afraid to make moves as opposed to most of the 1-2/1-3 nits here who probaly just wanna sit and nut peddle yet still can't move up stakes. He's also actually improved over time unlike most of those same players who probaly still play the same way they did a decade ago, hence why they still play bottom stakes live

Yeah it's totally insane that his first poker vlog 3 years ago was like, the very first time he played live poker in a casino or something, and now he has a bracelet and another 1st in a big tournament, and plays some of the highest stakes cash games. Kudos to him.

Nah, I think people are just entertained by both of them and get puzzled and amazed with some of the decisions they make. Hate is a strong word and that’s not hate. Trooper was complaining about haters even before anyone even knew who he was and he would probably be surprised by the number of people that root for him.

Seems like any time I watch some YouTube video about poker and the name Rampage comes up, people keep making jokes about him being a fish and punting off his stack in the comment section.

I think people have a genuine disdain for trooper, and justifiably so. He seems to be a pretty terrible person. I doubt people have much actual hate towards Rampage. He seems like a good guy, but hasn't demonstrated any ability to think logically. That's where his haters come from imo. Blind aggression can take you far in this game, and it can be very entertaining.

I think you are right about Trooper although it's funny how a lot of people do continue to watch his videos even if it's just to trash him. He obviously does have a lasting appeal to them

Regarding Rampage he is definitely a good guy. I think he does have his head screwed on more than people give him credit for. Although he obviously loves a punt and sometimes takes shots in big games which seem a bit ambitious

Rampage just needs to stop defending his blinds in deep cash games. Seems like most of his huge punts come out of the SB or BB with marginal hands in raised pots.

Rampage is adapting .. He's also had a bit of gamble in him just to create content .. and that's fine at 2/5 but it can really hurt at the higher stakes since they wont make the same mistakes giving it back.

Both the double draw hand against Reza and KQ against Nick showed that willingness to 'play poker'. He talks BB all the time and that's a huge hurdle for most poker players IMO .. play your chips, play the spot with 'less' regard to the real world value. Of course it's really nice to have a BR and a secondary income feeding your BR as well, which is something that most players don't have due to job, house, wife, kids .. other responsibilities that aren't going away any time soon.

Trooper is an interesting person .. he's found a spot he's comfortable with and doesn't seem all that interested in 'growing', and he's pretty upfront with his thoughts. He puts the streak together and then cuts it off 'exactly' when he's 'back to where he was pre-CV'. Now granted it was probably time, but when you can put in an effort like that in 'only' 157 days to create a recovery income, then you'd think that another 100 days or so might take care of a few other asperations in life.

Obv he's busy helping with the pops and such and that takes some time away from vlogging. There's plenty of opportunity to make hay right now during the WSOP that's not going to be there in Jan/Feb and he doesn't seem concerned about it like the other 'pros' that are putting in the time right now.

I think the viewers for Trooper have larger 'goals' or asperations for Trooper because it's human nature to want more for someone. People view Trooper in the same 'rut' as years gone by. Watch some of his early Vegas videos .. it's hard to put them in chronological order if you can ignore the obvious physical aging. It's the same style, format and content in most of them.

Rampage is plowing forward as a young bull is expected to .. and folks want to see the success and the failure of that journey we all wish we could've tried. Whereas Trooper could be viewed as the 'line worker' showing up for work and putting in his time, again.

Not really trying to trash Trooper, but I think people just really get on him due to them having higher expectations for him than he has on himself. GL

That's what young and capable people do.

That's what old and less capable people do.

These people don't expect things to get better, because even they can see that things are only going to get worse as they get older (but not wiser) and becoming even less capable.

Rampage is growing and his viewer base grows with him.

Trooper is shrinking and his content is stale, just like what you would expect from an average older person in his twilight years.

Young people wouldn't bother watching or discussing Trooper for some pretty obvious reasons.

Old people couldn't stop talking about him for some pretty obvious reasons as well.

Has Rampage Poker's mom already found out that he won the WSOP gold bracelet last year? From what I understand, his mom told him never to travel (to New Jersey and other places) last year because of the covid....and she still didn't know a few months after he had won.

Except in very tough games, the majority of players could improve quite a bit by doing this.

Obviously in tough games you need to play those hands to reduce your net loss in the blinds to less than 1.5BB/orbit. But any game containing Rampage is by definition not a tough game.

Wow, latest ever vlog from Trooper. Played another tournament. Love his hand descriptions with seat numbers instead of UTG, CO, etc. standard Trooper.

Trooper is slacking up a storm of late.

Also: For a little bit more money Trooper could be playing a tournament at the Wynn Fall Classic.

actually enjoyed this vlog, only watched like half from when he busted tourny and onward, no bizzaro politically driven rant, seemed happy enough

I think it tells you what the streak was actually all about when as soon as he "got back to where he was pre covid" or whatever, he stopped, how would something like this get people excited for his wsop or provide some sort of exciting lead up to the wsop? Thats ridiculous. It was him hustling to stay afloat

Hey, glad you enjoyed it.

I've talked about dealing a little bit, not a ton. I didn't think it would be great footage and didn't really want to make my vlog about life as a dealer. It's great though. Unfortunately i've been having alot of mental anxiety over work in general, but if we put that aside

Pros:
Great $
I really enjoy the casino i work at (the ppl i work with / for are amazing)
Flexible hours
I live next door
Superb management

Cons:
Changing schedules (very stressful for me)
1 annoying reg can ruin a whole day
It's a job. I don't love work. I want to play. But, if you like working / need a job, this isn't a con.
HR is very hard to communicate with

As for the Trooper impersonation, no, i don't watch poker vlogs. My buddy usually says "waaaaaasup everybody" so I just went off that. maybe he got it from trooper but i doubt it.
