With Rampage I am not sure what he means when he says he never studies. He reviews his own hands prior to creating YouTube videos, so he has to be seeing a bunch of hands and thinking about them, which is way more than what the vast majority of the field is doing. This should help him understand how to beat the normal games that he plays in, which is all he needs to do for the most part. Learning how to beat Landon isn't needed if he never plays Landon.

That being said, it appears that he has just ran hot so far in his career and will experience downswings when he begins running closer to his expected EV. If he wants to become a good high stakes regular or elite he will need to study a bunch and learn, but if he wants to continue to beat 1/3 and 2/5 at Boston Billiards he may not need to do to much else.

Doubt it.

Reviewing raw footage is pretty hard, unless you also take good notes.

You would also have to do it almost right after a session, especially if you are relying most on memory.

My guess is that he or maybe even someone else edits out the footage of some hands, then he goes back and add commentary to fit the hands.

It would explain for lack of reads, nothing specific from the hands themselves outside of action, and the fact that his camera angles are too limited to capture sufficient details.

Rampage understands now that poker vlog is a path to something else and he’s merely doing all this with the goal of providing entertainment.

Being better at poker is probably pretty low on his list of priorities.

This is true. He has another youtube channel that just tests different ways to make money on youtube and online. Poker vlog could be one of those that just happened to take off.

Pman & BK are so similar in the way they talk both online/offline. Id imagine Pmans story will go the exact way BKs has gone.. Will check back in a year to see

My read is that pman is probably very risk averse.

That's the polar opposite of BK.

Not sure if pman will reach his goal, but his ideas of success or failure are likely very different than how most people in this thread view them.

I think Pman doesn't love the video making process. Being a video maker/editor is tedious both technically and creatively. If you don't love the process, its going to die since it doesn't make money until you get Owen-Rampage level views.

As much as we bash Trooper and/or Vibes or whoever else (Brad), they seem to created a video system and messed around creatively with style, content, jokes.

Pman seems to want to journal rather than create.

Las Vegas poker vlogger-adjacent news that David Valdez (seen in the clip from the vloggers game at Stones) passed away a few days ago at the age of 29 from an apparent heart attack.

I'm sure y'all are just going to use that clip to make fun of bikeking.

When he gets good results, he must get them just by pure aggression. He talks about how he doesn't study, other players exploitatively read him like a book when he has a hand, and changes his 3 bets to 4 bets for the fun of it just because he thinks it worked once.

Honestly I'm starting to doubt his cash game results. Only explanation is that he just bets and raises a lot so runs over people.

Watched every episode- my thoughts:

Landon obviously has been amazing in every decision of every game. Trevor second best I think. Matt Vaughn has been smart and interesting but not quite as good as Trevor. Vibes has been quiet and solid. Marle has been fairly quiet overall outside a couple big hands.

Rampage= don't think I'm going to watch a poker vlog by him again. Think he understands poker about as well as BikeKing understands hockey.
Personally having watched his vlogs I don't think he is that bad at the level he plays.

Yes he is overly aggressive and sticky in certain spots but being a bit too aggressive is not a bad trait against most fields at this level.
Because he has shown many bluffs and light 3 bets I bet he tends to get paid off more than most in certain spots.
Sure you can nit it up and play an ABC style and beat most 1-2 games but how interesting a vlog would that be?
He puts out a lot of content and gets a lot of views.
I would bet he makes far more from youtube than he could ever make from poker playing 1-3.

The Trooper is still feeling the effects of his skateboard spill. That's both hilarious and sad. (Trooper in a nutshell).

Is he planning on riding it when the weather gets hotter?

Rampage is like the 90's Adam Sandler of poker.

Not going to win any serious acting award any time soon, but is raking in the $$$.

Interesting Pman new vlog! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbZWGCnQ7gE

He addresses many issues discuss in this forum. (Cliff note, came to vegas to be with friends and take a chance away from home for once).

Drank diet coke to energize then..

He also uses speech play to stack a drunken guy to call with worse twice. +$650

I quite liked the Pman vlog.

1) addressed key points
2) decent story arc over a few nights
3) felt entertained, not just watching seeing what happens.
(it helps that its substantive topics discussed rather than how much i like mcdonalds)
4) very authentically him, open

Spoiler:

2021: +3,238

Weird thing about Johnny Vibes, i do not think he can beat an average live 5-10 game, but these private games do exist. Hes dead to win at anything public online cash game related imo. Maybe .25-.50, if he studied. These are my opinions from hearing him talk hands and stuff. Hes just a bullshit artist trying to hock his stuff. Maybe he was involved with private games i dont know, but hes not really a winning player outside of like 2-5 or something, idk how san diego or california games are though to be fair, so maybe they are way softer.
