Also, I've seen flips break games very fast on many occasions. When players get stuck they want to flip to get back to even or go home with nothing. If the casino offers games like blackjack or baccarat it's generally in the casinos best interest not to allow flips and force these players to the pits if they want to try to get their money back quick.

True, but for the most part I don't think someone that can't keep a mid level 50-60K a year job is going to be putting their all into poker and are going to fail there too.

Most full time players don't put their all into poker. Most of them are slackers which is often why they aren't working a real job in the first place. The part time grinders I've known tend to be workaholics.

I'd like to say Trooper has turned the corner in poker, but a hot streak like this is not unprecedented for him. It's normal for him to go on a multi-month upswing and then go on a multi-month downswing.

Given he coolered some random 1/3 player in this video it seems this is likely just variance. Hope he keeps it up though.would love nothing more than to see him play 5/T again sometime in the future.

His "hot streak" is still not even that impressive though. Playing part time I have made what he has made YTD in a month before. He is playing at least 4 times a week it would seem, plus online on Sundays, so if he is playing 25 hours a week he is at over 300 hours, so is making $12-13 an hour, which is fine and if he made that all the time he would be fine if he is making money off of YT and selling merchandise.

I am speculating on hours played, but looks like he has ~60 videos up this year, so assuming he has played poker on 90% of those and plays 5-6 hours on average it would be in that 300 hour range. I also believe he has some videos where he is playing until 2 AM and the such too, so it could be more hours too.

Haha multiple times? He'd be lucky to once with his skill level. Owen is a flat out nit pure and simple but he's not immune to tilt, I've seen it first hand multiple times@ the Bellagio.
