If you're basing your estimate off SocialBlade or some other CPM figure, it's hugely inaccurate and can only be used as a very rough guide (my wife runs a YouTube channel with 1.2M subs).

It also varies greatly based on the target audience - gambling is one of the topics with the lowest CPM since most advertisers stay away so I'm far more inclined to believe Brad's own words that he makes about $1K/month off YouTube.

vegas 5/10 nl outside of wsop and a few big weeks each year is absolutely terrible and has been for years.if that's what neeme wants to play for a living it makes no sense to live in vegas.

he's going to play in bad games with miserable people, not make a lot of money and burnout way faster than he moved and played in good fun games consistently.

Think he said he's playing at work, so no stream until he gets home.

I'm seated at same table as him, Table 30. He had one big hand to add a million and a couple steals. Tables kind of passive even after the money break.

Pretty much this, but also more. Not tryin to say I know better, so I don't. My speculation just comes from what I've heard other top people say. If you are a true poker player, you search out the best games, regardless of the game. It seems Andrew's poker skill set is very small, and regulated also to some of the toughest games due to his location. Playing in LA seems like a decent alternate. But also more than that, why isn't he really trying to learn PLO? Why isn't he really studying for certain tournaments? Why isn't he learning mix games and playing Bellagio 40/80 and 80/160? I dont know just questions, I just think he is really limiting himself, and possibly his potential and income from sticking to vegas 2/5 and 5/10. Anyway hope nothing for the best for him.

agreed
you should always try and stay ahead of the curve and learn new games
even if you still want to play nl, if you can play other games you can always play the best game running in the poker room.

personally i switched to plo years ago and i'm also in the process of learning mixed games

It's almost like poker as a sole form of income below nosebleeds eventually becomes just another job you want to leave. Go figure.

Same. I played the 9/18 mix game at wynn awhile back, completely new to the games. I lost 1200$, but all be damned if it wasn't fun. And the atmosphere was better than most NL cash games I've played. So there has to be other people similar to me with interest. I played terrible for lack of knowledge so I hope to improve at some point, but everyone at the table was super friendly and took time to help me with tryin to learn the new games (obviously right? Haha) from all my years of experience too, when it comes to cash games, even from a recs point of view mix games a lot more fun. NL can be too at times, but seems NL holdem really excels in getting amateurs in tournaments more so than higher stakes cash games where people "depend" on winning to pay bills. Just my thoughts and it's made me excited for poker again to learn new games.

I was by the Isle on Saturday. They had 103 names on the the list for the MUG. It's 3/5 which doesn't even run there.

Andrew's last vlog seemed really somber - like the first step in phasing out of poker at least somewhat. He seemed embarrassed to include his VP score in his winnings. I got to think he's looking for a different opportunity that doesn't require so much poker. Maybe even a normal job.

I didn't really get the idea behind the private games in LV hurting the regular games. He says the private games pull in the loose recreational players thereby making the regular poker room games tougher, then causing a domino effect. But why is that? Are these private games just targeting the fish? Is that the whole point of them?

Private games pull bigger bankrolls and stacks off of the regular tables. For every good game in Vegas, there's 3 bad ones with 4 people sitting on a short stack with no plans of topping up. Plus when you play 5/T in Vegas, you're playing with the same 30 guys, praying that there's few tourists with enough chips to splash around that will take the open seat.

Which begs one to question, with vegas having big mix games, PLO, good tournaments year round, and LA having games with more Recs, does one choose 5/T, one of the tougher games around those stakes, to be their main game. People need to learn to let go of holdem!! Haha
