He was especially pissy and 'unlucky'

He usually buys in with $300
after 2 hours he said he lost all in with with
AA v Q,T - lost
Set 3's go down to 7,7 - lost
5,3 v AA - lost
A,Q v 2,2 - lost,

Then after playing a bit more he comes back and says
"the night didn't get any better, in any way"

flops straight v ?? - lost

and he ends up saying he lost $445. I know there will be pots he won, but his demeanor and bad beat stories usually ends in a $1k or more loss.....

Just didnt add up with his usual losses, or win vlogs with that amount lost.
I was thinking the same. Another big clue is he almost always says how much he was down at his worst when he ends a losing session off its low, because he's proud of himself for partially clawing back. He didn't say that this time.

Maybe he two outered someone for a 600 dollar pot and he didn't want to discuss it.

Either way, if it is as he described the session, he did seem to run pretty bad.

I agree, ive watched the vlogs since the beginning. That was the first time I feel like he might have fibbed the result. Although we should prolly give someone the benefit of the doubt that loses 1500$ more then anyone ive ever known playing 1/2 and admits it.

This is true.

Its just for me, the one time his results didnt add up with his attitude, his bad beat whining, and the 2 sessions with bad results after both.

say he lost $200 after each session. With those beats he should have been quite happy to be 'only' down $400. But he was waaayyy more upset.

Troopers down streak seemed to start when he would not get up at some point over $1k on that night he had a big swing. That night was telling and set a very bad tone.

Loved Vibe's newest video. 30 day challenge and throws down the gauntlet that it is basically impossible for live variance to result in a losing month for him at 5/5 stakes.

Those we're two really good ones from Boski and Vibes. Solid story framing, climatic, makes you want to root for them even more. I can't wait for the next ones.

Vibes just proved he knows nothing about variance and is actually just running super hot for 10,000 hours. This is very possible if you know anything about poker variance. Just ask DGAF. I turned off his Vlog as soon as he said this outrageous claim. What a total idiot. And very cocky, too. There's a difference between confidence and being oblivious to variance. Vibes thinks he's just entitled to win and a bad run won't happen to him. Give me a freaking break.

How do you know he is running super hot? He could actually be running under EV. Just cause someone wins at poker, doesn't mean they are on a heater.

I get that 10,000 hours is not a massive sample size. But if he has logged his hands and EV, he should be well aware of his position in variance.

I don't want to give away results for those that haven't watched, but a few of you should watch that vlog.

Just doing my best to be honest and transparent about the truth of live mid-stakes grinding. Between my brother Andrew, Kristy and I, we have approximately 40K hours of live poker experience. Sprinkle in probably another 10K in online experience. I can only go off of our truth. The longest break even stretch we've ever had between the 3 of us is 350 hours (by me), and it was early in my poker career.

There is an inverse relationship between skill level and variance. As skill levels increase variance is much more difficult to overcome. If I consistently sat at a table of 8 pros, the edges would be small and the variance would be high. However, consistently sitting at tables with weak players allows me to make a bold claim that "I think it's borderline impossible to lose over 150 hours." Also, in a cap game of $1K, it is really difficult to lose more than 200BBs at a time due to a cold deck. So even when negative variance does arrive, it's much easier to grind back. People balked at me making $150/hour over 5 years in $5/10 and now people balk at my latest claim. Things that seem so ordinary seem like a fallacy to others. Obviously a result of cognitive biases on both sides.

Also, I took a look at your recent posts on 2p2 and noticed a pattern of you saying everyone sucks at poker or is overrated. Something to think about and reflect on in my opinion.

Thanks to everyone for consuming the content. I obviously take a lot of pride in my production value and story telling and all the positive feedback has been amazing. Thank you again.

Obviously not impossible. But if you have a big edge, are playing 150 hours plus a month and are making adjustments to limit high variance situations, I could see where it would be a lot less likely than most people think.

Dunno if it was on this forum, bu i once read a thread about a guy having a samplesize of 100k (super turbo 6max sit and gos), his winnings graph was a straight line downwards. People still argued about variance, off a sample size of 100k sit and gos (even though it was hyper turbo).

I agree with Johnnie that if he actually puts in 150 hours in a month at 5/5 - at his skill level and assuming the games are soft - his chance of losing money over 150 hours (while playing only 5/5) is very low, although I wouldn't say *impossible*. He is 100% correct that variance in 100-200bb live NLHE cash games is much smaller than most people realize if you're playing in very soft games as a pro.
