How could he possibly know that? Most people aren't going to be clicking through to the video from a link on 2+2. Once they have seen one and enjoyed it they will subscribe and watch it directly.

If anything, I would say 3% coming from links on one site is quite a bit!

I'm pretty sure he looked through the backend analytics and took the "In-Browser/Embedded views" number. In the poker vlog world it seems to me that a good formula would be to rely on your base demographic for growth/exposure to new audiences as your core subscribers will often share more than a new cold-traffic subscriber. The more you keep your base engaged, the more they will champion your cause and help your growth. Once you lose the base of poker players, it's much harder to grow if you're still pushing heavy on poker content..... until the eventual WSOP Summer spike that seems to be a regular thing now.

Coming soon to GO GAMBLE...insulated thermos comes with free sippy cup so you can fuel your gamble when you leave the house.

That only accounts for 2+2 users who watched the videos via the links in the forums. I imagine many of them who learned of the vlog on 2+2 watched his videos directly on YouTube's site/app through their subscription notifications. And that assumes Trooper's 3% comment is even the truth since he lies constantly about minutiae like that.

Yea technically he lies but I think it’s more appropriately labeled as he’s “full of ****”. I have a couple friends like that who just talk nonsense and/or talk things “up” all the time. Part of it I think is just wanting to be thought of as interesting or cool but it’s all about attention mostly

I know that it only counts via embedded clicks within browser. The number of people who watch via the embedded player this thread would be very low, but that number combined with the true 2+2 audience who are/were subscribers are mutually exclusive. At that time when he was saying that 3% number (it's in a verrrrrry old vlog), it was in an off the cuff manner to dismiss the forums. I'm positive he wasn't correlating hundreds/thousands of subscribers who initially subscribed from finding out about him in the forums.

Sounds like I am in the minority here, but I really liked the Short Deck vlog. It was interesting to see a new game.

I like hand histories and analysis in general, so I watched the latest Neeme vlog all the way through.

Likes:
- That they went over a lot of hands
- That it was about a game I don't see much of, but is growing in popularity

Dislikes:
- Neeme seemed way more muted than usual. He just didn't seem his usual personable self. But that probably had to do with
- Somerville being the textbook definition of a try-too-hard. Maybe even Neeme was cringing at it and his natural enthusiasm was sucked out of him.

Please Andrew, for all that is holy, cut your losses and disassociate yourself with Somerville. I don't care if that means you only release a vlog ever 2-3 weeks. It's better than seeing more vlogs but with Somerville in them.

I don’t care for short deck but I would watch if it was just Andrew.

I think Andrew will come in here and say something to the effect of being able to hang with guys like Lex Veldhuis and whatever NL crusher is in the young wizards group he was talking about on his podcast has greater EV to his personal bottom line than us schmucks griping about Somerville. And if that’s the case, then I can accept that logic. BUT:

Somerville. Yuck. Hard pass on any vlog with that guy in it. Clearly I’m not alone in this group, although likely the minority of his viewership. maybe.

It’ll be interesting to compare viewership of vlogs that include him versus ones that don’t.

Boski: "Most buffets in Las Vegas do not close down as they transition from lunch to dinner. I highly recommend that you pay for lunch and stay for dinner."

Yeah, that works great if you're 70 years old and want to eat dinner at the "early bird" time of 4:00pm.

Or you can get the quality of dinner selections with a late lunch

Or if you're a degen poker player and eat lunch at 4 and eat dinner at 1 AM

This is even funnier given that Brad Owen just put up his latest blog and it DOES have a special guest appearance by Jason Somerville. Not kidding.

Somerville does make me cringe from some reason every time he shows up in one of those videos. How long until he pops up in one of Marles?

Or breakfast at 4pm could be a smart poker player who grinds peak evening to early morning hours with the recs and drunks.
