I totally get what you are saying. I've been going through a period of taking steps backward and it sucks. Success isn't a straight line there are peaks and valleys. I think we are all trying to do our best and if we persist we will all make it to where we want to be in life sooner or later.
this. hey PA lets go do some fun sht soon, maybe we can do a crazy 1 day grind challenge or something...or just drink solid beer and find good food.

I also wholeheartedly agree with doing exactly what you are now if that's the life you have chosen and are happy with. Just throwing some prospective in there from a viewer Who wants the best for you all as well as a life changing upswing.

I am sure others can agree want to see you all raising a bracelet up eventually and that's why we watch. Or of course there's the crowd that slows down to see accidents.

I understand the roller coaster of professional poker just as if you are running a start up business.

Make the optimists proud and the haters miserable.

Good luck

@Whey i have been following your blog and enjoy it a lot as well as TheTrooper. However, both of you have been playing 1/2-1/3 for a very long time with no real progression and unless you throw some solid content (travel, entertainment, occasional GF pic) it gets very monotonous.

Imagine this, I Vlog my life everyday working in the tech industry. I start at an entry level position with the hopes of making it to be an executive. In the beginning, people are thrilled and rooting for me but after nine years I'm not even a manager.

We are basically watching people go to work everyday with no improvement but are holding on to hope that you will advance and become masters of your craft.

For these reasons Vlogs like Jake's and Andrew's will take off much faster.

just my 2 cents not like they matter but i am rooting for all of the low limit grinders and do appreciate the Vegas content.

good luck out there.
I totally disagree. Every angle of life is necessary. The good, the bad, and the same old thing. Whey is showing the grind it takes at the lower level to make it yearly. A lot of players just think they will go from 1/2 to 10/20 in a short time. At least whey's grind is 100% authentic.

I don't see the problem. its not that hard to keep up with a couple new vids. Its the trooper talk that is making it too much already.

This is the Vegas Poker Player Vlog thread. If you want to discuss a player outside of Vegas you should take it to the appropriate forum. For instance, there is a thread on 2plus2 about Jake Cody's vlogs. No need to discuss him here.

I think when it comes to Tropper, his viewers just wanted to see him apply himself.

Take this challenge for example. When all is said and done he should be up 2k minimum over 2 weeks. If he just had a little more hustle than a "challenge" then in a month he could possibly clear 4K. A year later he might actually have 25k to play 2/5 and so the grind continues.

But it's taken Troop over 2 and a half years to actually grind poker. He seems content to collect YouTube checks, poker tube checks, and gift cards to make ends. But to succeed it takes more than just settling. So hopefully for Trooper these last two weeks are a catalyst for long term success.

But historically, Troop lacking humility usually becomes overly proud of himself for seemingly not so big accomplishments. 100 hours of poker is not splitting the atom.

He needs to do something with all the YouTube competition lately. His repetitive vlogging style/content doesn't really hold up against the light of the others who dive into hand histories, engage in genuine Q&A's with their viewers, and don't mail in vlogs. No pun intended.

You think 30 hours a week is 100% authentic grind? What do you consider a short time to go from 1/2 to 10-20?

Think of all the truly successful people in whatever field they are in. There's a much higher level of commitment and conviction/ borderline obsession especially in poker or any other self employment positions.

As I said before they appear to be living the life they are happy with but as viewers most of us watch with higher expectation.

I believe Trooper will be giving some introspective and general life analysis next vlog.

He actually worked 2 weeks, had a nice win and all of a sudden we're about to get a lecture. Wait for it, it will be entertaining.

I watch all of Trooper's and Andrew's vlogs. The others I watch sometimes when it pops up in suggestions and seems interesting

I watch Trooper to follow the life, the story, the schedule, see

I watch Andrew for the hand histories, swings, poker mindstate

Andrew is going to rise faster because there is a bigger market for strategy. Also, all of Trooper's watchers have Andrew's videos as suggestions, so he's grabbing a lot of the same viewers.

There's plenty of room for both though. If I had to watch one, I'd go with Troop. Just because it's more unique and interesting. I need to check what he's up to and how he's doing. Andrew, I just assume he's doing okay, and don't feel like I'll miss much if I miss an episode

Another new poker vlogger: Jeff Boski.

His first vlog is about him playing a $400 MTT at Venetian. I'll put his result in a spoiler tag for those who want to watch the vlog first without knowing how he did.

Spoiler:
He finished 4th and cashed for $11,500

I just watched the Boski and Nitorious vlogs, and then YouTube recommended yet another new vlog. Someone named Poker Monk. I won't link since he's based elsewhere (West Virginia, I think?), but the number of poker vloggers has exploded in the last month.

It was already embedded in this thread by CGJ in post 864. I couldn't imagine having to drive 4 1/2 hours round-trip to play poker. (And then only playing for 3 hours!) I guess I've been spoiled having lived just 5 miles from the Strip off of Trop & Buffalo, as well as having about 8 casinos within 30-45 minutes of my house and/or condo in SoFla (including one less than 4 miles away).

Trooper has the train wreck/crazy guy appeal that Andrew lacks for sure.

When you see Trooper complain that he is losing because he ate something unhealthy and that he doesn't have enough hours because of traffic or something and then we see him walk away from his game for over 30 minutes to go to a different casino to eat 2 greasy and overpriced slices of pizza mid-session, it's hilariously stupid. It's the reality TV effect. People like watching train wrecks on reality TV and Trooper delivers this hardcore.

Andrew is much more humble, mellow, and has a grasp on life. He's a real functioning adult in society with a serious romantic relationship, friends, and treats his work seriously instead of like a hobby. While he has a better quality of life and a better future, it's just not as interesting to watch FOR SOME since you know he isn't going to spew hundreds of dollars in the pits or something.

If you were to be friends with one of these guys for more than a day or two, who would it be? Seriously...who?
