Warms my cold heart listening to El D talk about the hiring process.

He also could run into the future Mrs D. Plenty of female dealers, well tipped. I'm thinking a mid 40s Asian one.

As someone commented on the video, El D could deal a jackpot. Does the Orleans have a bad beat? Imagine him getting a 1k tip.

Me too. I mean he can deal and still play poker afterwards. Deal 8 hours, play 8 hours. Everyday. He'll be retired by the end of this year!

A good video explains the future predicted increase of nomads. 37% of job seekers have a college degree yet only 32% of jobs require a degree this equates to about 5% per year of workforce becoming nomadic.

Reminds me of when I was playing at a cardroom that was holding a WPT event. Tables and dealers were in short supply. They put some cash games in the asian games section, pai gow, etc. The dealer was very inexperienced at dealing poker, and at a NL table started stacking the pot. A player gave him the dirtiest look I've ever seen at a poker table, reached over, and smashed the stacks flat, lol.

Honestly, I hope he makes a ton of money and decides to deal full time or at least part time. He's gonna at least 3x his poker hourly and if he goes on call which is the likely starting point of a dealing job anywhere, he'll have the flexibility to pick and choose when he'll want to deal if he wants. I think with some experience, he could be a great dealer.

The key will be if he can keep his mouth shut in the box and just put his head down and deal.

Myrna, if you really wanna troll him, sit in the middle and move the button after every hand.
His biggest obstacle will be his know-it-all attitude. If he starts telling baseball and king of queens stories in the box, he's finished.

After making all that cash without risk of loss, he'll have a hard time returning to being a nomad.

If he gets a roommate, it's easy to get around by just registering in the other person's name.

Well now he'll have an opportunity to make $30+ an hour at no variance so it'll be interesting to see how he can justify not trying to get a full time/part time/on call dealer job after the series. If he just deals the cards and runs the game and doesn't try to be "social Diesel" and is relatively fast and accurate, no one will bother him, not the players or his supervisors. And the better and faster he gets, he'll make more money as well.

He plays less than 10% of hands and needs fun social tables to not get bored. Well he won't be bored dealing cause now he's technically playing every hand as he has to pay attention to the action and keep the game moving.

Dealing poker is honestly the nut job for Diesel. Hope he realizes it.
He's going to get the urge to jump into every conversation about mediocre sitcoms, sports, etc. Baseball will be on tv a lot. He should start a keep-his-mouth shut challenge.

Orleans has a dozen promotions going on at any given time, including at least 1 bad beat. You can tell when it's getting big because there's not an empty seat in the poker room.
