Rice is actually correct that in Nevada you get OT for working over 8 hours in a day plus over 40 in a week. However, it only counts once so if last day is all OT and work 10 hours you get 10 hours OT, not 10 plus the 2 over 8.

Also, he probably isn’t even aware that in Nevada if you work all 7 days in a week and have 40 hours in a day prior to the 7th day, that day is to be paid double time so you get 2x pay instead of the 1.5x pay. Many casino payroll departments mess that up though on the initial checks and have to correct it later so who knows if he missed an entire category on his check.

I worked for a company that had a similar OT policy. Our day was 7.5 hours and anything over that was at OT pay. Everyone was scheduled 5 days, 37.5 hours. If you picked up a 6th day it was all at OT rate assuming you had worked all of your other shifts. Double OT kicked in at 50 hours.
