Da_Nit is doing the Lord's work. Did you go solo? And did you check out any of the pay tables on VP to see how they compare to the strip? Thinking about an extended trip this winter and doing something similar. Check out dive bars and food and not sniff the strip.

Those local bars sometimes have decent VP. Both Frankie’s and Double Down Saloon have the same owner and 7/5 bonus poker seems to be their best game at 98.01%. That’s better than almost anyplace on the strip. DDS also has the friendliest bartenders and beers are like $3. Most of these bars have the best game as 6/5 bonus poker at only a 96.87% return. Fireside Lounge at Peppermill incredibly has full pay games. That’s 9/6 Jacks at 99.54%, Double Bonus 9/7 at 99.11%, DDB 9/6 98.98% and 8/5 BP at 99.17%.


Not morning but a lot of these places are afternoon trips. If I’m checking out a few of these places I’m Ubering, walking and some of these places aren’t the greatest locations and I’m not walking around them at night.

With the exception of Atomic Tavern that was a few minute walk from the El Cortez where I was staying at the time I wasn’t even tipsy in any of those places. Most are a one beer and water stop and on to the next one.

I love Vegas solo, only way to go. Now in a couple of those bar stops I did meet up some friends in town but otherwise solo.

If you ever played 1/3 or 2/5 at Red Rock, you've probably seen Iceman with a 2-3k stack playing nothing but AA & KK.
