Email reserve@ FAR in advance & be as flexible as possible. Also if your willing to go solo/as a couple your chance of getting a seat increases - much easier to score 5PM seatings too. Once you go once, tell the staff if you plan on returning - they love repeat customers and people who interact with them during the "show" by asking questions that positively affect the dining experience. Its only logical, if they like you then your chances of getting seats easily in the future increases.

hotjenny314 - now I am doubly flattered, thanx. After WSOP insanity ends the 4 of us need to get a modest meal together.

Stripsteak... Solid dining, you can do it for under $100/head. Kraft is too expensive for $100/head unless your going to be careful with what you order, Gallaghers is rarely discussed - I have no experience.

ELV FINALLY reviewed Picasso (my favorite restaurant).

Picasso Perfection

It was in his book as one of the top 10 restaurants in Vegas, but somehow he didn't have a review on his site until now.

Is there a step missing or is it a typo and you mean reserve as far in advance?

I see you have to email requesting a seat, but I cannot find the email address. If the missus and I are going to be in Vegas next April or May, should I email them now, wait until closer to then, or wait until we are actually in Vegas?

I can just see it now. People knocking on their cyber door saying, "TT sent me."

I did eat there, wasn't impressed with what I had (the porchetta, which had been raved about). It was just a big pile of tasty but ordinary, and too much, too one-note, too overbearing. It was the kind of dish that foodies will go nuts about because it's something different but in reality just isn't that good. Would work better as a smaller portioned appetizer. Also, I'm not one to give a **** that the produce is locally-sourced, especially since "locally" in this case means the agricultural mecca that is Pahrump. It's one strike and they're out for me, I don't see myself going back when there are so many other options.

I didn't post the email, it is reserve@ebyjoseandres.com. Enjoy! If you wait until 3 months out and you should be fine, they charge your credit card in advance so its better to be sure of your dates.

ZJ: Gotta do a Picasso night with you before you jump ship. Really surprised John hasn't review Picaso before, its no secret he raves about the wine program. SEARCH LINK

eco74: did you do Table 10 since the new chef took over? I have only been once and was very happy, it was a very welcome change of pace for me.

I haven't read this thread, but your help is appreciated.

My wife and I are coming there for our 10 year anniversary in September. We are not used to the fine dining scene but have agreed that since this is a special occaision, and didn't have the opportunity to eat a little nicer in May, we will try some finer places.

Recommendations for a very good steak house that also serves very good seafood? I'm thinking SW but other recommendations are welcome. ~$75-$100 per person, 1 drink each is what I am shooting for. But, the price is not the deciding factor if we go or not.

Also, a good sea food restaurant? We almost went to the one (the name slips my mind) in Crystal's Mall but for several reasons, we didn't.

Any other restaurants on the strip that is an absolute 'must?' I am not a fan of olives (the food, not the restaurant but I'm guessing the restaurant uses them as a main ingredient?)

Thank you in advance for your help.

The best steak I've eaten in Vegas is at SW, but Cut, Carnevino also high quality. I think SW may have the best atmosphere for an anniversary dinner of the three.

For seafood I'd do RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay. Upstairs is more formal while down is casual. Great stuff up or down.

When you say "more formal" are you implying shirt + tie, sport jacket, suit? Same question for "casual." Assumming no shorts? Pants + nice shirt?

If you can't tell, I'm not much of a fine diner. And wow, do my questions make me sound like a backwoods hillbilly. Our fine dining consists of McCormick & Schmick's once a year (which we both love their food) and Benihanna. So, not much.

Thank you for your help. We'll, for sure, try SW. RM Seafood is a plan, too. I'm guessing the answer is 'no,' but I use a wheelchair and do you foresee any problems of me getting to/in/out/around any of these restaurants?

Anyone have views on the seadood restaurant in Crystal's, upstairs, closer to PUB?

RM upstairs is collared shirt, no shorts and sneakers+ for men, women can wear pretty much anything they want afaik.

Casual downstairs is anything.

Thank you.

BTW the seafood restaurant in Crystals is Mastro's. Doesn't look, in any way, unique by their menu, but if anyone recommends it, I'd love to hear your experience.

Any rec's for Beso in Crystals?

Do they enforce this?

2 weeks ago at Cut, the guy at the next table wore shorts and basketball sneakers and the girl had a flashing light on her top. The latter annoyed us, but we weren't in the mood to complain. In retrospect we prolly should have.

What Gobbo said for upstairs dress code @ RM. It is far from formal. And I don't think you should have any trouble with wheelchair there.

As far as seafood @ Crystal's, do you mean American Fish @ Aria? If so, that's a Michael Mina restaurant which I've heard good things about but haven't been. Had great experiences @ other Mina places both in Vegas and out. Hard to beat RM for seafood, though.

Personally, I think your budget is a little light. Especially if you add in drinks.

Yes, was there first week of June. It was after the Curtas article.

Don't go to Mastro's. I've been to their steakhouse (they have a few) and it's a good but very ordinary steakhouse. I'm confident enough that RM, Michael Mina and American Fish are better choices for seafood.

yea if it's jean george's in aria I agree steaks are great and cheaper than at Prime/CUT but in the area of Delmonico's/SW

Also, I keep hearing that most romantic place is Picasso, I thought Michael Mina had a great view as well? Or does it not compare?

Can anyone give details for me?

I did not quote it in my original response, but this is the post I was responding to when I said the budget was a little light in my opinion. Does anyone else agree that $75 - $100 per person for a memorable fine dining experience is a little light.

Personally, I would spend more especially since it is your 10th anniversary.

Yes, sort of, but from his own words he thinks McCormick and Schmick and Benihana are special-occasion restaurants so we may not need to overdo it in our recommendations.

I was in Vegas in early June and had the pleasure to eat at STK at the Cosmo, it was the best steak I have ever had in the city. Also, their Foie Gras with French Toast appetizer was truly amazing dish to start off an great weekend in Sin City.
