Ate at Morels last night. Caesar salad, which ELV called the best in town, was good but totally unimpressive. Steaks were tasty but nothing special. Sides were pretty poor. Brussels sprouts were bland and mushy, a mac and cheese that was advertised as containing all sorts of tasty things like gruyere and parmesan mostly just tasted like butter and cream.

They do have a serious selection of cheeses (60+) and the cheese course we had was great. Could be fun to stop by there for wine and cheese, but I doubt I'll go back for a full meal.

Yeah, Morel's is pretty disappointing. They have good bartenders so eating at the bar is ok if you just want to get cheese and charcuterie or shrimp or whatever, but other than that it's way outclassed in this city and is the worst of the 5 steakhouses in Venetian/Palazzo.

Morel's just seems like mall food to me. I've been to the one in LA @ the Grove (Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's and Wood Ranch Grill are the other Grove restaurants...nuff said?). Definitely felt the lack of whelm and would never think of it as a Vegas destination restaurant.

I like lighting money on fire as much as the next foodie, but after my severally disappointing experience at Bar Masa (disappointing compared to other Sushi places of that calibre, it was a fine meal overall) I have felt less inclined to patronize Shaboo.

I heard about this last week. 8 seats, one table, two seatings per night in the jaleo private dining room. Sounds like ssam bar with no internet reservation system. Secret email apparently. I'm down if someone figures out how to get a res and is getting a group together.

There's some discussion of it ITT (I asked for opinions on it some time ago) and what I got here and elsewhere was that it's fine but ordinary, no great reason to spend the money. I have not gone.

Just thought I'd check back in on the thread to mention that I dined at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon last time I was in Vegas, and wow, it didn't disappoint. Highly recommended.

I think some people get put off by the bar seating arrangement, as we discovered when a couple of parties walked in, looked around, complained and left. I felt sorry for them because they were missing out on an amazing culinary experience!

Its really too bad people get turned off by this. Sitting at the bar and watching the chefs work on everything is very cool.

It is cool, and I think foodies in general like it. The problem is that the average couple looking for a romantic meal in vegas can find better ambiance elsewhere. I liked my meal there, but didn't love it-- haven't gone back...

They can walk next door to Joel Robuchon at the Mansion and enjoy the $375pp tasting menu then.

Just had the best meal of my life at RM Seafood upstairs. Their new spring tasting menu just blew me away. Meeting the chef was fantastic as well. $135 for the menu. Best value ever.

It's a seasonal menu, just started I believe. Was really incredible. They're changing a few dishes and working some new stuff in but that venison should be there a while because he made it on top chef and jesus, it's incredible.

Just saw this article about Milos having $20 lunches, which sounds like a steal. Definitely an excuse to try it out. See you all there tomorrow imo.
