I'm out of town, but I'm dying to hear some Cosmopolitan food reviews.
Here's what I can offer:
I'm in DC, so in anticipation of the Jose Andres restaurants, I ate at Jaleo in DC.
Link to Kevin Eats review of the place.
Overall was a pretty good meal, but the items here were hit or miss. Sent the shrimp back because it wasn't cooked properly (came out better, but still meh the 2nd time. The texture seemed unintentionally off).
The Jumbo lump crabmeat with cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower and sherry dressing was ok but did not get finished by our still hungry party of 4. The pile of peppers remaining on the dish wasn't very appetizing.
Step mom sent a Sangria back, don't remember exactly why.
That said, some of the dishes were amazing. The Iberico Ham was probably the star of the meal. The chicken croquettes were also pretty damn awesome. The lamb was pretty good, but nothing to write home about.
I should clarify that I'm not a big fan of most Tapas restaurants, but my party of 4 agreed on just about every dish. While some were vvvv good, some just failed completely. Sometimes I'd attribute this to not being a big fan of Spanish ingredients, but since my party agreed, and Keven Eats basically agrees, IDK.
Overall I'd still suggest the restaurant, with the caveat that the consistency certainly does not live up to the Jose Andres hype.
