I had super high expectations. Two star michelin, Guy Savoy, Hung used to work there, etc.
We had the 9 course menu. There was also a mushroom dish thrown in, 4 amuses, and a bunch of breads/desserts.
Of all of the things I ate, only about 5 of them were actually good. There was a burger amuse (a slider slider, if you will), heirloom tomato water/soup, the mushroom dish, the bass with crispy skin, and the chicken (it wasn't chicken but I forgot what they said it was, silly french words/accents) were all tasty and enjoyable.
Pretty much everything else was between meh and ok. Nothing was really outright BAD. But for a two star michelin restaraunt I expect more than "not bad."
There were 2 dessert courses, and a dessert cart with lots of goodies. The first dessert course was a nice looking plate with dry ice underneath that they poured some liquid over to make a cool smoke affect. The dish itself was a quenelle of cantaloupe sorbet which was pretty good, and then just a bunch of pieces of melon.
The next dessert course was basically a kit-kat bar, only not as good (but I'm not a big fan of chocolates less sweet than milk, so maybe I'm wrong).
By the time the dessert cart was brought to us I was entirely too full to actually enjoy anything that was on it.
