a photograph of the menu with the price listed - that is pretty convincing evidence.

All I can tell is that they had a $199 (or $198) 5 course tasting menu when we went. To make sure I didn’t imagine things, I asked google and found various references to that tasting menu. For example this review from someone who went to L’Atelier and Joel Robuchon: https://jayefood.com/2016/11/25/joel...joel-robuchon/

I have been there few times and never presented with the options, just checked on the website now and it only refers to the 16 courses menu.
It might have been a temporary offer.

Pretty sure somebody who is reading can enlighten us more.

I’ve eaten there a bunch of times and done the 16 course a few times and the 4 course option a few times.

Yup 100% you there are multiple options at Robuchon. Was there couple of months ago and there is 16 course degustation menu, and also 2,3,4 and 6 course a la cadre options.

Best value for sure is 2 course because the bread cart/mignardises cart are awesome and filling and you always get mashed potatoes with your main. They are 33% butter by weight, so you’re pretty stuffed anyway.

Yeah, this. When I ate there I believe they were subbed as "Menu A" and "Menu B" and such. This is consistent with other JR restaurants I've been to in Europe as well.

I didn't see steak on any Picasso menu?

I wouldn't pay a surcharge for it if I did. In fact, there's no need to order it at all. I tend to eat in enough steakhouses during LV visits that it is an absolute pleasure to have really good non-steak items to wade through when the opportunity arises. In Picasso, that opportunity arises in spades.

Edit: Just looked at the menu and there is the wagyu! I guess it underlines my take on it that I didn't give it any mind when there. Unless someone else can chime in that it is amazing, I'd say order other choices and put the supplement towards wagyu in a steakhouse the next night.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same. Going there for the first time in June. Spent enough time in Bellagio over the years and owe it to myself to eat there.

Didn't do the Waygu upgrade. We did each do the $50 for the Serrano Ham and that was awesome and worth it IMO

Is there bar seating at Picasso or should I just go to Sage for solo dining. Never tried either.

Looking forward to Kame next month also

We've eaten there twice and found it pretty Underwhelming both times.. Never been to Sinatra so cant comment on that but can say Giada's while not being all that expensive is still overpriced mediocre food simply due to Giada's name.

I’ve never seen anyone eat at the bar at Picasso, but several solo dinners sitting at regular tables. I imagine sitting next to the window watching the fountains is a pretty cool experience even if you eat solo.

Seconded. iirc the bar at Picasso is in a small, dark alcove as you enter, before the dining room. It is a wonderful place to wait for your company and the bartender there was a lovely man, but it would strike me as odd to get dinner there. There's also the fact that getting to Picasso requires going to probably the quietest part of that building that isn't a bedroom. It feels way detached.

It's different from, say, CUT, where the bar is also detached from the dining area but it has a TV and is still adjacent to some lounge seating and passerby traffic at Venelazzo thru a window. The bar in that restaurant feels livelier than the dining area whereas the opposite is true at Picasso.

Planning a 10th anniversary meal at Picasso.

We'll be out there the week of July 4th. Will patio seating be unbearably hot for a 7:30pm reservation or do they keep it cooled off?

Looking to sit with the best view of fountains as possible.

thanks!

Moving table to have the dessert course outside can be an option, particularly if arranged in advance.

It's pretty hot, but I'm used to 32F so it will depend what you are used to. Even if the heat is beating down, one course outside won't be overkill and wifey will probably appreciate it.

We hit Giada's a couple of times - nothing special, but serviceable.

Sinatra is markedly better, both food and service, but you're gonna pay the Wynn tax.

i have a buddy (who's a LV veteran and has made dozens of trips over the years) that is attending a conference, traveling with his wife, and will be staying at Mirage for the first time.

are any of the places at the Mirage worth recommending to him? he's a long time Caesar's player so he doesn't have comps at MLife. Value most likely doesn't matter.

Closed, I believe. They now have a place called Osteria Costa located where their Brazilian steakhouse used to be. The menu looks suspiciously the same as the one for Portofino, though - they added a few seafood dishes but otherwise I don't see a lot of difference. I think they just wanted to move the place out of the dark corner it was in. They still have the branzino on the menu, which was my go to.

Always had a soft spot for Portofino - it was the last place I had dinner with my brother and his wife when he got sick. Haven't tried the new place yet. I'd probably just walk over to the Wynn and go to Sinatra, tbh. It was OK, but nothing special. To the person who started the thread - if your friend is looking for an informal bar food type of place, we hit The Still the last time we were there - decent but a bit pricey.

Yea too many good choices at Wynn or Venetian to eat at mirage. I haven’t been to either yet but both factory kitchen and especially cipriani are getting great reviews for Italian food
