The correct answer here is Joe's Stone Crab. We just took our little ones there in Chicago and sat for an early dinner in the bar area (Vegas has the outside mall area seats which would work fine) and my little ones loved it. They have a great kids menu, and the chicken strips are excellent. Alos, their fried chicken is outstanding. Yes, they have burgers as well. You then can have fine dining as you wish and everyone leaves happy.

Now, my wife and I have been so many times over the years the bartender was actively trying to snag four at the bar (he knew his tip would more than outweigh any lost drink driven tips, but the Chicago bar is tiny and I don't think I would do that in Vegas) but the high top was a better fit anyway.

Joe's Stone Crab is a good suggestion. Also, you don't have to walk all the way through Caesars and Forum Shops to get there (just go in from the outside), so bonus on that.

Or how about this: you get the In-n-Out (or ShakeShack, whatever) burgers to go, you bring them INTO the steakhouse, and then ask them what the corkage fee is to eat the burgers there!

GF and I had dinner at the bar at Lotus after work this week....we both have classes that end the same time on Wednesday, so we're going to try and go once or twice a week, sit at the bar, have a Thai beer and some amazing food...and no reservations required!

While leaving, I saw this in the middle of the main room:

Just about made me shed a tear. I love the cigarette mounted over the right pic, just waiting for him.

Did one of the owners from Chada end up opening a new place? There was a story back in the fall about it.

I’ve never understood the love for him. He was an arrogant prick who got promoted on a tv show.

Bourdain was an easily relatable personality for anyone who's ever worked in the service industry or have went down a dark path of substance abuse and saw their way out of it.

His show inspired my love of travel.

Bourdain was also a real New Yorker.

One of those guys you can just pick out when seen in another state.

Go watch a few videos on him now that he’s died and see the impact he made. Also, in the future if you could keep your unasked negative opinions of the dead to yourself. We would all appreciate it.

Yeah myself included, probably millions more. Do you remember what travel shows where like before Bourdain in the late 90s? Totally changed my outlook on travel and food.

I liked his to the point mannerisms.

Alright sorry enough troll feeding.

Bourdain is probably one of the most influential Americans of the last 15-20 years in many ways. He literally gave a lot of ignorant Americans the guide book on how to travel internationally. Do a little touristy stuff, do a little authentic stuff, do a little out of the way stuff, eat a lot of great local food. Then there is the fact that he went to lots of places that were not remotely on the radar for most of us. He literally made going to seemingly daunting places seem doable and most of all amazing. Was he flawed? Sure, we all are. But the impact he had on many was enormous. Ten years ago I thought exotic travel was the Carribean or Hawaii. Boy was I wrong, there is a huge and fantastic world out there that I have traveled to largely because his show opened my eyes to what was out there. Through travel my beliefs and worldviews have been changed. He had some impact on that and I imagine there are many like me.

Then again like half the country sees the entire world outside of the land of a Applebee's and McDonalds at every highway exit as a "**** hole" so I am hardly surprised that we have someone here holding on desperately to his ignorance. It is all too common in the USA.

Bourdain was a hero to me, in travel, cuisine, East-Coast ball-busting, writing, and film-making.

So **** you.

I hope CNN will at one point decide to show what they had already shot for parts unknown in Strasbourg. I’ve been to the city countless times as a tourist and would love to see how Bourdain saw it.
