Heading out Sun - Wednesday w/ my wife for a work conference.

Get in Sunday night @ Aria. Reservations at Julienne Serrano
Monday have a lunch planned at Javier’s

Staying at Ceasars M, T, W.

Tuesday have reservations at Beauty & Essex at Cosmo w/ a planned happy hour prior

Looking to add in a dinner Monday before a show. Any suggestions Ceasars or close? Pretty much like steak, seafood, Italian. Looking somewhere potentially quiet / romantic as it will just be two of us.

Eiffel Tower at the Paris is good - especially if you're there early before it fills up and gets noisy. Overlooks the Bellagio fountains. Food isn't Picasso/Cut level, but it's more than acceptable.

If you're farther up the strip Sinatra at the Encore is pleasant - older crowd so not noisy, good Italian. The branzino is very good. A bit pricy, but classy and romantic. I pick up sensitive guy points there after watching football all day.

+1. The food is good but they play it 100% save. That makes the actual dinner the least memorable part of the overall experience but at least guarantees that even non-adventurous guests will leave happy.

I doubt I’ll be back unless they replace the restaurant or totally revamp the menu.

Picasso at Bellagio is close to Caesars, very romantic, has a pre-theater menu and you can choose between seafood and meat for each of the first two courses. That 3 course menu is $89 or $99 (?) which is pretty good value in my opinion compared to other options on the Strip.

Eiffel Tower restaurant is a place you go for other than food. Like, a proposal restaurant or a business closing.

Now I say that fully as a man who proposed to his now-wife at Picasso so ymmv.

I again will recommend the Michael Mina (at Bellagio, next door to Caesar's) pre-theater menu special.

any recommendations for some places with tasting menus/ pre fixe for around $100 or less per person? Would be open to pre-theater menu as well.

Looking to have the fine dining experience for a reasonable price.

What kind of food do you like?

If you are OK with pre-theater menues, you can basically go anywhere that offers one. And if it’s just about the fine dining experience and you are open for lunch, you can get that as low as $29 at Milos.

[speaking of Milos, last time we went for the lunch special I noticed that Baklava for desert is $2 extra now. I get the $10 extra for octopus as appetizer and gladly pay that, but $2 seems just extremely petty]

Not sure if it’s best to post here, casual dining or my ongoing TR, but just looking for peoples thoughts on the following potential restaurant lineup for later this month. Some of these are def more casual than fine dining, but hopefully most of you also read both threads like me.

There will be a few non-negotiables (Kabuto, Raku etc) but others I’m going to try and do are:
Flock and fowl, Black Sheep, Esthers Kitchen, Partage, Sparrow and Wolf and Bardot Brasserie for brunch.

Considering Chengdu Taste, have done Mian and really liked it but is chengdu good solo, it seems better for groups where you can share lots of dishes.

Also thinking of Paid in Full and Andiron but they’re pretty far and don’t think I’m doing a rental car this time.

Thanks for any suggestions/thoughts.

I thought Flock and Fowl was great when they were just the lunch spot on Sahara, and I was underwhelmed when I went to the Ogden with the extended family.

Black Sheep my wife and i thought was stellar, but someone just posted a pretty mediocre review. YMMV. Also pretty far southwest.

Esthers and Partage I've only heard good things but havent been yet

Sparrow and Wolf we had a pretty crappy meal there, and word on the street is it's gone downhill.

Would consider looking at the Kitchen at Atomic (fmr Sparrow+Wolf chef) & Edo Tapas (based on Jimmy's review in casual or twitter or sthg, fmr Chada space)

I enjoyed Chengdu Taste but liked Mian better, and I'd prefer to do Chengdu with a group but it'd be fine solo - you'd just get one thing and hope for the best...

The John Curtas review of EDO convinced me to book in there for my trip in 3 weeks.

Partage also looked great but I tend to get less excited about French food than Spanish.

Thanks guys. Great info. If I do a TR I’ll just append all the food pics to the old one.

Just read the Curtas review. All looks/sounds good except he ranks it's paella below Jaleo's. The times I have tried Jaleo's it has been between mediocre and dog****, so that worries me a bit. But still likely to check it out.

Any word on Other Mama, Paid in Full or Andiron?

Cheers

eh, I have no interest in ordering the paella anyway, not a dish that's blown me away anywhere I've had it (including what were meant to be super authentic places in Valencia)

Would like to try Kabuto but not sure if I'll get the most value out of the experience - is the $48 omakase/Nigira enough or should we try something more?

re: Paella

I completely agree. I've had it in Spain, including taking classes where the chef was all, "zomg there is only ONE paella and THIS is how you cook it". It was really good. But paella, to me, is akin to chili. I love chili. I would never pay more than 8 bucks for a bowl of chili though.

It's great, and you can add on nigiri as you mention.

My big regret from my last trip was not going solo to Kabuto

I've been with my brother twice, and solo once. It isn't bad sitting at the bar solo, but it's not quite as anonymous as being at a restaurant bar where there's more going on.

OMG.

The restaurant of the year is Wing Lei at the Wynn.

Only 5-Michelin-star Chinese restaurant in North America.

Expect to spend $150 for dinner per person AND feel like you got your money's worth.

But only if you like gourmet fine dining.

We had the 5-course Peking Duck dinner and an amazing combo dessert, morello cherry center with creamy core around it and red chocolate candy crust.

Going back there every trip.

Best in town AINEC.

I don’t want to sound like an ass, but 5 Michelin Stars isn’t even a thing. Not sure how you came up with that?

The maximum a restaurant can get is 3 stars and I think Wing Lei has one star?

I dont believe any las vegas restaurant (or LA for that matter) has a Michelin star any more. Michelin withdrew from vegas amongst others.
