El D- thanks for the links. I actually kind of like the idea of a tasting menu as long as they let us add a center table 2 lb+ ribeye on there as well. Im def looking forward to this and hope to be sober enough to TR this trip, so hopefully your search won't be for naught.

re: Carbone: **** is GOOD yo. Overpriced Italian or not, it's worth it to me if you already want to try it. I ended up there because one of my Vegas buddys wont leave town without getting their veal marsala, cherry pepper ribs, and fettuccine con funghi. Would go back there over Scarpetta all things equal, for frame of reference

I think right now they have actually 4 different menu options. Prix fixe, degustation, vegetarian and a seasonal truffle menu unless they don't do that this year.

TC,

Since it's not a real tasting menu, just the waiter ordering stuff for you, you can do whatever you want. So you could totally choose a price and do something like order a big ribeye, a couple other items, and then tell the waiter to pick the rest.

I mainly just want to try the $64 veal parm at Carbone. I ****ing love veal parm! LOL, I didn't even realize it's in the Aria. That's where I usually stay, so def doing Carbone next trip.

The steak tartare at Bazaar Meat was the best steak tartare I have ever had. Its also a dish my friends liked so much that we had to reorder a second one to come near the end of our meal after having one near the beginning.

The suckling pig was, imo, the only thing I would not reorder their period. We got a 1/4 pig without preordering it when we went.

Yeah try Yui.

Yui and Raku are not comparable. Sushi vs robata grill. But just everything is good @raku. You won't regret going and it will be half the price of kabuto. And their bathroom has an awesome bidet. And you can get some sushi/sashimi but it's not going to be the kabuto sushi experience.

Never been to carbons. I try not to go out for Italian much.

Guys going to Vegas with the GF end of the month. All of our trips revolve around food so I am extremely excited to visit Vegas.

Here is what I have so far. Keep in mind I eat a lot of red meat and I would be at a steakhouse every single night but the GF has made a rule that I can only go to 1, which obviously means I will force her to go to at least 2.

Steak1: Delmonico? I'm a big bone in rib eye fan and I heard they do it the best. Apps mean a lot to us especially since she only eats steak to keep me company. I also love my fries and ceaser salad.

Steak2: StripSteak. Now I'm picking this as #2 because I had it in Miami as a "casual" meal late at night because I was hungry and it was in my hotel lobby. I was BLOWN away. There is something different in their steak and I really want to go back there. It's also an easy convince job for me with the GF as another steak dinner because it was she who recommended I try stripsteak. She read in some dumb magazine that it's real good and it was. So the convo will go like "Babe we must go back to that steakhouse you intro'd me to" and she will bite.

If you guys think I should swap one of these out let me know.

Burgers: This will mainly be our lunch. So there is shakeshack, InNOut (Used to live in SoCAl so it's my fav) and Burger Bar. I will def go to In n Out. What do you recommend as the second option?

Pizza: Heard the pizza place at the Cosmo is real nice. I am staying there as well. Any other place I'm missing?

Italian: Where do I go for Italian. We love Italian..please don't tell me the hypebeast Carbone is my only option, and if it is, is it any good?

StripSteak is really good

As for Italian, I can't think of anything that is out of this world. The high-end places will serve you fairly predictable Italian-American fare at a stupid price. I've never been that impressed by B&B or CarneVino, although that doesn't mean either is bad. Costa di Mare used to be an exception to that, but I feel that place (like everything else at Wynn) has gotten more ordinary. Carbone is indeed good, but is mostly about the excess. Rao's also falls into that good-but-ordinary category. Haven't been to Sinatra but I'm sure it will scratch the itch without changing your worldview. Scarpetta is for business dinners when someone else is paying.

If you don't want the oppressiveness of expectation that a high price and pretentious environment brings, I'd recommend Otto which is one of Batali's places in the Venetian.

Eco, shocked you weren't that impressed by carnevino. They have some really fantastic pastas imo. I typically like to just eat at the bar and get a white sauce and red sauce pasta. The ones that really stood out to me were the two ragus, and the ravioli but they will have something that fits everyone's tastes. Both Carbone and Carnevino to me are really fantastic, but they are probably overpriced and make for quite an expensive date (but hey you are on vacation).

Super expensive options- Carbone for Italian American and Carnevino

Expensive- sinatra like eco said is very solid, and allegro also at the wynn really used to be good value but that menu has gotten so so boring.

Moderately expensive- try Ferraros off the strip, old school Vegas vibe'

Outside of Carbone and Carnevino, you wont find any blow you away Italian food like you would on the east coast, and certainly not for a good deal, but there are a lot of options that will make for a great night.

Yeah I have friends who swear by Ferraro's. I've been there a few times and haven't been super wow'ed, but everything I've had there has been good, just not memorable.

Snipes: I️ like Holsteins for lunch burgers. Best pizza is off the strip at settebello. All the Italian suggestions listed are similar in quality. I️ think it’s one of those things that’s just got a low ceiling.

Place is super underrated, as are Capo’s and Gaetano’s. Gaetano’s always has a groupon available too.

I should clarify: everything BUT the steak is very good there. But it is a steakhouse so I have to judge them on that as well, and I've never been impressed.

Wife and I ate there a year ago - both of us were happy with our meal, but it seemed on the pricey side. Service was very good. We sat on the "outside" - few tables basically separated from the mall-like area by a low railing as I recall. It was a little noisy, but overall OK.

We like Sinatra's better, more about the ambience than the food.....

B&B:

One or two things great, a handful of things decent, service fine but environment sucks. I've only been once and have never had a desire to go back. You can assemble a similar meal at CarneVino.

Sit at the B&B bar, order the octopus and a glass of red wine. Then go someplace else for a dinner later. (or do this right before they close for a late night snack).

I rarely (since late 2016) see people mention Hiroyoshi as a sushi or omakase option, but we went in late 2016 (or early 2017, can't remember) and loved it. We did the expensive and less expensive tasting menus with sake. Truly amazing and we were both full, which is impressive if you know my husband. Never been to Kabuto or Raku, but I think Hiroyoshi is less expensive (at least than Kabuto), and I can't imagine they are that much better?

What does "in-between Pre-show dinner and appetizer" mean?

(and why is there a hyphen for "in-between"?)
