Tx,

Go with sixteen people and eight servers will stand around your table with an entree in each hand, and all sixteen entrees will be placed on the table at exactly the same time.

The best steak house is the one inside Caesars. Hubby took me there for our 10 yr anniversary. I think it's called Old Homestyle.

Old Homestead. I'm going to be presumptuous and guess that you really mean "I went out for a really nice meal for my anniversary" instead.

To claim it is the best steakhouse would indicate you've tried all the others. Further, that you have been enough times to know that many items on the menu are all solid. Further still, that you are immune to the sticker shock that comes with looking at the menu. It is pretty toppy, even by top tier Vegas steakhouse standards.

What were the bits of Old Homestead that you liked that were significantly better than other Vegas steakhouses? I Ask, as I'm genuinely interested and might try it if there are enough reasons to a) bother to go into Caesars and b) swallow the markup on the menu. For a) and b) to happen, it is going to need to be special, but I'm open to trying it out with even the slightest encouragement.

This is the smarmiest, most passive-aggressive post I've ever read on the internet. Holy ****...

OK, if that is your view. Level of smarm can be subjective, there was no smarm intended. To add any value on this thread at all, there should be something in a post which explains which part of the dining experience was good. The service, a particular dish, the ambience, the value, something. Otherwise, it is a meaningless post.

I've not visited, but the menu looks expensive. I asked for a bit more info, which to me doesn't seem unreasonable. Even a "I preferred this place to CUT" would give me something to go on.

There's no good reason I can think of to pick Old Homestead over any other, and the price alone would make me go elsewhere. It's not as good as Cut or SW but probably is as good as the other upper-middle steakhouses, it's just priced higher.

Pfft. At French laundry in california, there'd be 16 waiters each with 1 entree.

Not saying Kai hasn't the best service in the US (I've never been there) but the problem with lists like that: the average guest at Kai might have lower expectations than the average guest at French Laundry where most people spend $400+ just on food.

But the whole discussion is kinda silly anyway, what well run fine dining place doesn't make sure every person from a party receives their entree at the same time? That's as standard as having clean bathrooms..

I agree; any list that's generated solely on reviews off of trip advisor, yelp, opentable, etc, is suspect. not that most other lists are valid. I guess michelin stars

The "special" part is your plates all touching the table at the exact same moment.

But what does that even mean, what qualifies as the exact same time? Within a tenth of a second? Or within a thousandth of a second?

Nope, the special part is that while your plates may look like normal, pedestrian plates...They're actually an edible part of the meal!

Before you can say Bam!. The experience is memorably cool.

Re Picasso - much delayed response. We were there for my BD last week. I called the night before and told them about the allergy issue, and they said no problem. When we got there, the waiter was helpful and suggested she just take two items off the first of the four "sections" of the Prix Fixe menu (second section was seafood x2 and foie gras which she also doesn't care for. All worked out fine. Food was, of course, great.

Marquee, XS and Jewel (that replaced Haze at Aria) are the only upscale night clubs open on Mondays. Haven't been to Jewel yet, but you prolly can't go wrong with any of those.
