Ortolan hasn't even been legal in France for like 30 years.

For dessert obviously you go with a cheese course of Casu Marzu.

Balut isn't even that crazy. Might as well start with an appetizer of surstromming and Hakarl.

ortolan has been served in the united states. vidal sassoon had it on the menu of some private event once or twice. i only know that because i dated a girl who worked for petrossian.

Maybe for lunch you can have a private chef do up a plate of Yin Yang Fish.

Well the first 3 are more extreme foods as opposed to just cruel foods. So probably more in line with Balut than Ortolan.

Casu Marzu is maggot cheese

Surstromming is fermented Herring from Sweden. There is so much fermentation that the gas released causes the metal can to expand and bulge.

Hakarl is rotten shark, also Swedish.

Yin Yang fish is just cruel and is basically a half live half dead fish made by frying the mid section of a whole fish but leaving the head raw/half live. Jump to like 1:30.

I honestly thought I was open minded when it came to food but apparently not.

And a cup of Kopi Luwak

Nothing really weird with Kopi Luwak. What do you think organic vegetables are grown with?

Its taste is nutty and pretty good but not worth the price, imo. Supposedly Kopi Luwak has been replaced by Elephant Coffee as #1 coffee recently though.

yeah, but having coffee with cheese is pretty gross.

In terms of weird foods that actually taste pretty good and you have a possibility of finding in Vegas, I would recommend Shirako, which has been served at Raku before.

Went to chada and gotta agree its better than lotus.

We ordered for starters : pork larb, spring rolls and the fresh oysters all of which were great. Also tasted their satay sauce different than the traditional thai but better imo.
Also ordered :
KANG KUA KADUK MOO : good but would not order again
Duck panang : greaaaaat, better than lotus of siam's one.
Pad kra pow : favorite dish, could eat it all day every day. we had the crispy duck one, will try to order off the menu pork belly next time.
MOO KHUM WAAN : meh, it was good like kang kua kaduk moo but not orgasmic.

Brag : it's 3min from our house for wsop, will probably eat there once a week !

On the flip side I was not impressed with CUT, imo SW is much better. Didn't care for the clubby music and lightning of the place. Sides were very good (on par with SW) but the dry aged ribeye was not as good as the dry aged tomahawk chop from SW. pretzel bread was the nuts and service was top notch though !

Highly recommend Inyo ! http://www.inyolv.com/menu.html

Order suggestions : japanese street corn, whole yari ika (!!), brussels sprouts, chicken wings (all good but korean was my favorite), uni scrambled eggs.

Will def go back to try more dishes !

Ps : It's feels like I'm eating more than playing poker but can't really complain

Hello folks,
Heading out Tues for a week. Know a few folks from local games around here that will be in town as well, but it's basically a solo trip. Could I get a top 3-5 places I should visit on the Strip that 1) have a bar where I can get dinner. 2) I can get by wearing jeans and a button down shirt? No restrictions on type, I like it all.

In past years I've found myself in sort of analysis paralysis for food and poker as there's so many choices I find myself sitting in my hotel room going over various plans for the day/evening and then find 2hrs have gone by and I end up settling on something usually bland and boring(of course the 420 sessions don't help So this year I'm trying to plan things out before hand so I don't have to think about it while i'm out there. Thanks!

At Delmonico's, or any Emeril Legasse restaurant, there are those little endearing service touches, like both of you getting served with 0.01 seconds of one another.

I'm hesitant just because the reviews here have been coming back negative recently, but CUT is my favorite at bar meal for what you describe.

I'm 41 days from return and I'll have to try it again to see what's up.

Neither is particularly romantic, but SW wins on those merits. Might want to consider either Country Club (unique atmosphere) or Cut.
