I would go to Kabuto over Nobu. Try something different.

I'd like to prioritize these as potential brunch lunch and dinner options so whenever we have time we can try these in order of awesomeness.

Places we love in no order:
Fix:love the parmesan truffle wedges and the chili fries appetizer
Delmonico:the wife loves the lobster bisque here and I crush the chips/steak
Olives:love truffle mushroom pasta and their carpaccio, solid lunch option
Bouchon and LAVO: had brunch at both these places and they were both solid

Places we want to try in no order:
Nobu:had this at the Atlantis at the Bahamas and if it is anything like that one we need to go
Wicked Spoon:every time we eat at a buffet (we thought Wynn buffet was awesome) everyone tells us we need to go here
Cut:we walk by this one every time, since we always stay at Palazzo/Venetian, and we never went but according to this thread it is a must????
Sage: purely based on thread hype
Bardot Brasserie hoping to make this another good brunch spot

Please let me know if you think there is something we should add and which ones of these spots we want to try is #1 on must go list
You're off to a very good start. I haven't heard the best comments about Bardot, so I would prioritize that lower. Have not been myself though I want to try it as well.

Definitely do Cut. Cut is amazing.

The only year I've been able to get out there for the WSOP, I was tagging along while my wife was out there for a week for work. We stayed at Encore and my daily routine involved Society Cafe for breakfast. Followed that up with an hour or so of reading by the Euro pool (No kids!). Made for a very relaxing and filling morning before hitting the pokers.

Beat me to the punch. Did Kabuto for the first time our last trip out and we were astounded.

Gna,

As long as you're willing to eat a little on the later side, I've had no problem getting last minute tables for 2 at fix, delmonico, olives (fine, but not that big a fan) and cut.

I've been a Cosmo regular since they opened - any word on a replacement restaurant for Comme Ca?

Where would people recommend for a good but reasonable lobster? Looking for some deals in the 30 and under range as will be 15+ of us.

Under $30 for lobster? I see a Red Lobster in your future.

Don't know what they're replacing it with but you can go to Bouchon for a better French bistro than Comme Ca. DB Brasserie ain't bad either.

And I did go to Bardot. All I had was the steak tartare which was solid, and the fries were among the best around. No idea if the rest is worthwhile. Didn't get the sense it was appreciably different than the aforementioned French places.

Go to Picasso if you haven't been.

Yeah I never cared for it but only went once. I tend to alternate between Jaleo and Milos for the most part. I wish Scarpetta was better.

Gobbo,

You need to do a sushi tour in SF for ino, kusakabe, sushi ran, ichi, kiss, and a few more like kiji, eiji, otoro, etc.

A few LV publications I've seen have rumored that Beauty & Essex (a current NYC restaurant) could take Comme Ca's place at Cosmo. Apparently the NY location has a fake pawn shop at the entrance like some kind of speakeasy concept.

I promise I don't have it out for Nobu but I do feel that if you've been to one, you've been to them all.

Its all rock shrimp tempura, Miso black cod, Yellowtail with jalapeno and ponzu, Tai tiradito, Hirame New style sashimi at pretty much every single one. Don't get me wrong, the hits at Nobu taste great but I haven't seen anything new there in forever.

Kabuto will have it beat for nigiri and a place like Raku will have it beat for seasonal non sushi Japanese food that isn't a dish that Matsuhisa came up with 20 years ago.

If you are adamant about Wicked Spoon, I would go for dinner as if you go for lunch, you're probably going to ruin your dinner appetite.

I like Sage especially at its price point . It is not on the same level as Picasso/l'atelier/Twist etc....

I might replace BB with Chada or Mundo.

Also at CUT, I would stick to the 35 day dry aged USDA ribeye and a small serving of the Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu. Skip the American Wagyu.

I'm one of the more pro-nobu people itt but I def agree with amoeba. I've been to nobu in NYC, Vegas, and London many times over the years and yeah, it's all pretty much the same.

Also agree w him re: cut. Frankly I wouldn't get any of the Japanese wagyu either (also wouldn't get beef at nobu), I just think it's way overpriced and not worth it compared to other stuff you could get for the same money instead.

I don't think wicked spoon is that good. The only buffet I think is worthwhile is Caesars.

Wynn and Aria buffet are the only ones I've had in the last 3 years. Wynn is the only one I'd return to.

Just a point, but Cut is the only place in LV (in fact pretty much the world) where I've refused to pay for a meal. More precisely I paid for the appetizers, wine and left a tip large enough to cover what would have been the total cost of the meal.

The meat tasted like they'd just poured an entire shaker of salt over the beef, and I'm not salt intolerant. Struggled through a couple of mouthfulls and pushed it away. My two friends agreed, the manager came over and proceeded to tell me how wrong I was, and how good their chef is, at which point I became annoyed and said that its a shame the chef didn't cook mine the floor cleaner must have and suggested he take it back and ask someone else to try it. I'm not even sure I was offered a replacement, but either way once I send food back I don't want a spit covered replacement.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the wine was corked too, but thought I'd kicked up enough of a fuss and just wanted to cut my losses (excuse the pun) at that point.

I keep seeing people raving about Cut, and think they must just be smoking crack or something.

SW craps all over it, in terms of food quality and service. Delmonicos too. Hell Mortons too.

This was about 3/4 years ago now and I haven't been back. Honestly why the hell would I, in a place like vegas with so many restaurants, life is too short to give it a second chance.

Do you suggest any of the sauces/toppings on the steak or just plain?

Any recommendation on appetizers?

It's not the cheapest meal ever, but compared to the alternatives at that level, it's definitely not overpriced.

I'm partial to the bone marrow app but that might not be for everyone. I usually skip sauce unless if I'm getting a filet .
