About Carnevino...I went there and everything was delicious. I got the porterhouse and it was one of the finest pieces of meat I've ever had. We also ordered a couple of pastas and they were delicious also. Having said that, it was a terrible value. All the portions were super small, and after spending a truckload of money, I wasn't even full afterwards. That was very disappointing.

Has anyone tried that new burger place called Grind Burger Bar on Tropicana in the Blue Green resort complex w/ the Einstein Bros. in there? Is that specific enough? Is this place any good?

Went to Joel Robuchon a couple of weeks ago.

You get pickup and drop-off by a limo at your hotel.

I got the $89 menu which consists of the following:

- Bread cart (15 different choices. Bacon and basil are out of this world)

- Amouse Bouce (caviar, fennel, crab, lobster eggs. Amazing dish)

- Main course: I had the duck and foie gras which came with mashed potatoes (duck was awesome, much better than the foie gras that was excellent but not amazing)

- Dessert: L'Chocolat. Chocolate pudding, chantilly cream, coffee ice cream and a liquor sauce. One of the best desserts I've ever had.

- Chocolates cart: 45 different varieties. Pear gelee and chocolate lollypop were the best.

Overall I paid $127 including the tip which is a complete steal for the service provided and the amazing food.

Fishyak, Nobhill over Seablue, done.

Manube. Not staying at Mirage, actually staying at Harrah's in order to save some cash so I could have a big healthy food budget.

Amoeba, that's too bad about Boulud. I was looking forward to that experience.

Surprised to hear someone say this. I usually leave carnevino stuffed. In particular, the porterhouse is a lot of meat IMO. Pro tip: ask if they have any reserved cuts of meat that are not on the printed menu. I've gotten 8 month aged cuts of meat that are just unreal. Incredible, almost cheese-like, aged flavors.

I just got back from Robuchon. Got the sixteen course menu. Ate all of mine and helped some friends finish theirs, so you know I'm not a lightweight talking about carnevino portions

Robuchon is incredible. It's an experience unlike anything else in Vegas. The service is a notch above anything else I've seen. If you can afford it, I can't recommend it more highly.

This (both halves).

We went to Robuchon with 7 people, and more than half of us thought it was the best meal we've ever had, (myself including). And you can tell by my snobby posts in this thread that we're not slouches to the fine dining scene in Vegas. I'm a bit drunk and very tired, but if I find time tomorrow I'll write a more in depth TR.

Including wine/bear/drinks?

Sounds like a pretty nice deal.

3 Stars:
Joël Robuchon (MGM Grand) - paid $1,200 for two people. Best meal I've ever had. I could post a TR just on this meal alone. More than amazing food, it was an amazing experience.

2 Stars:
Alex (Wynn) - Awesome, just bloody awesome. Atmosphere is a HUGE plus
Guy Savoy (Caesar's Palace) -
Picasso (Bellagio) - Been here three times, outstanding, but not same calibre as Alex

1 Star:
Alizé (Palms) - Very, very good, souffle's and views would make this my first choice for those who can't afford the crazy stuff

Andre's (Downtown) -

Aureole (Mandalay Bay) - Be there shortly

Bradley Ogden (Caesar's Palace) -

Daniel Boulud Brasserie (Wynn) - Honestly, I didn't think this place was special

DJT (Trump) - ?

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon (MGM Grand) - This is a great place for a young crowd; meals are small and fatty yet super delicious.

Le Cirque (Bellagio) - I've been here 5 times and keep coming back. It's the best of the "non tasting menu" restaurants in the world in my opinion.

Michael Mina (Bellagio) - The "cookbook tasting menu" (around $100 if I recall) is just outstanding and offers so many different tastes. I put this above Picasso.

Nobhill restaurant at MGM grand - Michael Mina restaurant that serves a slightly cheaper lobster pot pie that for some reason didn't taste as good. I would skip this restuarant as it just wasn't exciting.

miX (Mandalay Bay) - Same deal as Alize (great french food, awesome views), except it turns into a night club. I was here with a group of 20 and we dropped 10k, but it was more wine than food. Mix Candy bar is a solid dessert, nothing else is extraordinary

Nobu (Hard Rock) - ohm nom nom nom. So good. I love japanese, I'm just surprised Osaka at the Wynn (or Okada, whatever it's called) isn't equal to this. Yellowtail looks at this level as well, as does Shibuya at the MGM.

Wing Lei (Wynn) - General Tao's chicken is stupid to get here, as it's no different than any place. But the exotic stuff, including the fresh giant clams and awesome. Only 1 star chinese place in North America, although Jasmine gives it a run for it's money.

Restaurant Charlie (Palazzo) - Great food, small portions, unfullfilling. Unfortunately, I was hungry and broke after this meal, I wouldn't recommend it unless they prepared the dishes faster and added like 3 more dishes to the 14 course menu. No real sommelier when I was there.

There's been lots of discussions on steak places, and it's sad that none have made it to the calibre of a michelin star, but I really think SW, Prime and Craftsteak are all as good or better than a few of these one star places.

For those of you who like Robuchon, you should really check out Guy Savoy.

Its really just as good if not better IMO. The decor might not be as lavish as Robuchon but the food is really top notch.

Last summer I tried Alex, Picasso, Guy Savoy, and Joel Robuchon. Guy Savoy was my least favorite.

ZJ + Ike,

Did they still have that course with the egg yolk ravioli and morels and I think some kind of foam? Damn that **** was amazing.

I went only a couple weeks after you last summer I think, and they had it then. Like ZJ said, not this time. I think it was my favorite thing on the whole menu on that trip.

At Jasmine they had a Spiny Lobster for like $80 a pound, minimum 8 pounds that I chickened out on... life has never been the same since.

This isn't a single 8 pound lobster is it, rather you have to at least order 8 pounds worth of multiple lobsters?

I'm not sure really large sized lobsters would taste all that good.

What I really crave are live spot prawns or scottish langoustines or Spanish Gambas.

-American Fish by Michael Mina
-Jean Georges Steakhouse

I believe it actually is one giant, spiny lobster... unless I'm mistaken. Be good if someone can clarify.

You completely forgot about Bar Masa, the only real potential challenger to Joel at MGM. Masa in NYC is like $500 per person and 25 courses - the only place in the North America you could open a second one is Vegas.

i have to assume bar masa will be more of a l'atelier than a mansion, if that makes any sense
