I haven't ordered a steak from a restaurant in years. They're so damn easy to prepare on you're own, I usually (irrationally) feel like it's a waste of a night out.

Thoughts on STK?

Last edited by Riverman; 03-06-2012 at 08:28 PM. Reason: which grape vodka do you recommend. seriously though, is it good?

CUT, SW, Carnevino, etc. all better options IMO

I keep hearing the locals talkinf about an Italian place off the strip somewhere near Rio that Steve Wynn frequents. Elizabeth's I think? Anyone heard of it?

Best meal by far during my bachelor party last year, and I was super-psyched about heading here next week until reading this post. Am I better off just ordering the same dishes that I loved so much from last year (foie gras creme brulee, sweetbreads, wagyu tartare), instead of branching out?

Well you got three appetizers last time and those might be the three best things on the menu, but you should branch out. I'm never the type to always order the same thing at a good restaurant. I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything, you just might not be blown away.

Batali's places are just so overpriced, and the wine lists are among the absolute largest markups in the city.

The octopus app in B&B is one of the most amazing things to eat in the city. But so many other dishes are just ruinously overseasoned. Too hit and miss imo. Went there again recently and came away with the same mixed experience.

STK is quite acceptable if you enjoy the atmosphere and are going to be spending the night at cosmo. You walk in and don't expect the food to be that good, but it's actually quite well done. If you're going out just for steak, I agree there are likely other options that are better fits.

OK Picasso fans, what do you prefer- the degustation or the prix fixe?

Thanks for the STK reviews. We have a group of 8 guys who are just letting loose on the annual reunion trip. Everyone will be boozing and just looking to have fun, sounds like basically a perfect spot for what we're looking for. Staying at Cosmo btw.

Degustation, isn't close.

Ya, unless you hate lobster and foie gras or something, get the Degustation menu your first time there (and if you don't like just Foie, you can sub it).

The other menu is great, but there's a reason why 4 courses have barely changed over the course of years. The other menu changes more often.

Carnevino is mediocre and overpriced at best. Imo after multiple visits.

Anyone been to Piero's Italian Restaurant lately? Is it still a great place to go when
I'm in Vegas next month? I haven't been there in a couple of years, but I still remember having a great Veal Chop for dinner.

Looking for a rec for a Steakhouse this coming weekend. Going to be 6 dudes boozing and eating red meat, so nothing romantic needed Skimming the thread it seems these are the best options:

N9NE
SW Steakhouse
Prime
CUT

Is there anything that differentiates one from the other? I've been to N9NE once and remember it being awesome, never been to any of the others.

Thx in advance.

Yeah go Cut. Helps that it's at the best casino of that bunch too imo. Wynn is also nice.

IMO, for your purposes, I'd say go with N9NE or STK.

Cut is a better meal, but 6 guys looking to drink and have a meal before going out...Different story. N9NE and STK are more social and filled with the pre-club crowd more girls to look at.

Has anyone heard anything about the new steakhouse in Caesars? The reviews I have seen range from "pretty bad and overpriced" to "best in town"

Thanks for all of the input. I put it up to a vote with the group between N9NE & CUT. Sounds like we will be in good hands either way.
