Man wish I had the same experience. Both sandwich and fried chicken were a big disappointment. I read that crack shack is coming to the strip later this year that place in San Diego blows away Hattie’s even if it’s not hot fried chicken

Gus’s > Hattie B’s imo, but not sure how that ended up in the fine dining thread..

Went to rose rabbit lie sat night. Food was solid but youre really paying for the entertainment, mind you i didnt eat any of the big ticket items, just a bunch of shared dishes.

Last night went to beauty and Essex and i thought it was awesome. Not sure if its considered fine dining but again, highly recommend eating there.

Tonight went to lotus. Lived up to the hype!

I want to go to one more place Tuesday, something like best friend, or any other suggestions in that ballpark.

Cheers

Hmm, very relevant to an upcoming trip of mine to Cosmo. A few questions..

What was the entertainment at Rose Rabbit ?

If you could go to one of Beauty & Essex or Rose Rabbit for a fun dinner with your wife/partner, which would you choose?

What age/type were the clientele in each of those two?

Would you say one would be more expensive than the other for dinner and drinks?

Thanks

Women love rose rabbit lie. They were all screaming and cheering throughout the show. Its about 40 mins on and 20 mins of entertainment. Im not a drinker so looking at drink prices makes stomach hurt.lol. i think food is better at beauty and Essex but experience at rose rabbit lie. Just depends what you really are looking for

I need a good restaurant recommendation for a business diner on the strip, 2 guys. So not too romantic or intimate setting. I was thinking perhaps steaks but really anything goes. Preferably also something where they don't rush you out of the door the second you are seated, so there is plenty of time to chat.

I’m a big fan of steakhouse for business dinners just because it’s the safest bet. It’s the one type of fine dining restaurant that’s usually the right amount of business casual and everyone finds something they like on the menu. Most even have good options for vegetarians these days, even though I wouldn’t bring a militant vegan.

Personally, my favorite LV steakhouse is Cut, but others prefer Delmonico’s or SW.

Militant vegan can still go to SW.

They certainly ‘can’, the question is if they would. I don’t know any militant vegans personally, but my wife has two colleagues who complained to HR because the professor who runs the lab refused to change the venue for their Christmas get together to a restaurant that doesn’t serve meat.

Sounds like your wife’s two colleagues need to eat a dick next Christmas

Yeah, I guess "strictly vegan" was what I meant, not "****ing lunatics"

SW - as with all restaurants at Wynn - explicitly caters to vegans. In fact, it has a separate vegan menu.

Made it to Kame on Sunday. Was fantastic. Will do a proper report when back home.

Also went to Kabuto Friday to see if it was still top notch and the Quality is definitely still there.

Got to Mizumi at the Wynn.

Order the crab cake croquets, alliterating as you speak.

Order the Baked Sweet Miso-Marinated Black Cod.

Get "The Mask" dessert.

You will cherish the experience.

Then come find the OMC with the white bucket hat at the Golden Nugget and toke me appropriately.

Trying to wrap my head around the terminology of crab cake croquettes. So they’re crab cakes that are breaded and deep-fried, making them...crab cakes?

Thanks for sharing a great read indeed. It’s also caused me to go into various side rabbit holes of Tony Curtas vs David Chang and other side stories.

Hey anyone wanna give me a quick review of STK at Cosmo? I've searched and while STK pops up once in a while in the thread, there is nothing detailed.

I'm thinking of moving our annual fantasy football league dinner from The Strip House at PH to STK this year - would be 12-14 people, and they would give us a private room w/ a $2000 minimum food and beverage spend, which is fine.

Any thoughts appreciated.

If you make the switch you MUST make sure that private room is quiet. STK is LOUD and just imagining having to do a fantasy draft there makes my head ache.

I finally went back to Kabuto so I could make a fairer comparison with Yui. Kabuto has lower prices and larger servings of equally high quality fish. I can see why it gets the most votes.

Yui is still dominantly better though, and a lot of that lies in a single ingredient: the rice. They import whole rice and mill it daily at Yui. The difference is remarkable and I was disappointed by the rice at Kabuto. Premium fish deserves premium rice. The presentation is a bit more refined at Yui as well, and it's nice to get a piece of A5 wagyu from their beef restaurant in the set menus.

It's up to you to decide if the difference matters to you for the price. It does to me. Kabuto is still much better than the average sushi restaurant but Yui has an impressive devotion to the utmost quality of every ingredient on your plate and the plate itself. I've never bumped into Nic Cage at Kabuto either.

Pointless to goto STK and get the private room. It’s quiet but defeats the purpose of even going there. With that said I’ve had better but with a group of guys it’s hard to beat the atmosphere.

This is an interesting point - silly to pay for the atmosphere and then go in a private room and not get the atmosphere.

Any suggestions for a good steakhouse that can put 12 people in a private room? We need the room because the Commish always puts together a video of league history and general Vegas nonsense, so we need the TV. Can be on or off-strip.

And we won't actually be drafting at this dinner. The draft is the next day at Cosmo pool cabanas. This is just everyone getting together to eat on our first night.

Thanks for any help - we've been doing this for 15 years you'd think I know more by now. But we rarely leave whatever casino we are at. And with Cosmo, there is almost never a reason to leave(except for Kabuto).
