In case any Scandinavians are lurking it was this joint: http://www.sushioi.se/ Tasting menu was 7-courses in name only. There was amuse as well as extra dessert and even an off-menu sea urchin bite toward the end. All-in with three beers it was a laughably inexpensive ~80usd
Where are you taking me to celebrate our 3rd or 4th place finish in the sports auction game?

I'll take you anywhere you wanna go as long as, just as in our game, you do most of the work and pick up the check at the end!

Has anyone been to Vetri yet? I have not been to his Philly location but it routinely gets some of the strongest reviews of any Italian place in this country, and I think this is only his second location so it shouldn't just be the typical Vegas outpost of celebrity chefs where they are never at the location.

@ the palms? Ate there 2 weeks ago.

They had only one weird water they said it is filtered from a tank and then put into their glass bottles. But tasted like tap to me Honesty. Uhh view was really good on the side of the room. Don’t remember if we had any apps.

Bread was really cold like out of fridge. Two different types didn’t like it. Or th oil served with.

Almond tortellini pretty tasty if you’ve like almonds lol. Really good.

Also had a mushroom pasta that wasn’t bad but just tasted like salty mushrooms and pasta.

I ordered the goat as a main dish and as a brown person. Tasted the corn thing around it I love corn. Wasn’t good imo.

Goat I smelled and smelled off. Tried to take a bite and was getting ready to spit it out but waiter came over and I was forced to swallow int whole because taste was awful. Didn’t order anything else after that hadn’t them take it away swiftly lol.

Wife also had a seafood platter. It was Mahi mahi, scallop, lobster, Spanish octopus and grilled calamari.

Lobster was good. Scallop second. Then mahi. Wife said calarami and octopus was bitter and sauce didn’t work.

They said they would send manager over to talk abou. They didn’t. They had complimentary at end of meal wasn’t v good. Manager never Came. Really wanted to like it because wife really liked view.

Back from a week in Vegas.

Triple George Grill was most satisfying.

Heartily recommend it.

I’m a big fan of a triple George Grill. The apps at the bar are awesome.

Might have asked this already, but... could anyone recommend a good seafood restaurant with lots of choices? Last year we went to Joe´s seafood and stone crabs at forum shops at Cesars, would like to try something different this time.

I don't know if it qualifies as fine dining and it was about 10 years ago, but does anyone know if the Italian restaurant across from the Orleans that had a gangster theme is still around? I'm pretty sure that it was on the South side of Tropicana. The food was great and so was the atmosphere.

Sea food tasting dinner at Wing Lei, within the Wynn.

You will leave saying "damn, that was worth the $165 bucks per person."

YOLO

This place seems pretty solid but maybe the perfect example of a place where almost everyone is on a comp and the prices are therefore inflated by double of what they’d be otherwise.

Agreed, did the peking duck meal there and it was very good but hugely overpriced for what it was.

Fascinating.

I am not a high roller but it must be nice to get comped there at Wing Lei.

Hmmm....

That’s the way I feel about every single restaurant at Caesars. What percentage of guests really pay out of their own pocket instead of using comps or business expenses?

Suggestions please... looking for a steakhouse for dinner that would have a burger on the dinner menu ~ don't mind on or off strip or price, TIA

So far I have Bavettes - anything better?

Old Homestead at Caesars has a burger on the menu, and I usually do not go for fries but the burger comes with "duck fat fries" that are really good.

Jean Jorges at Aria has a burger on the menu and it's pretty awesome. I plan on having it during March Madness.

I still need to check both of these out but John Curtis was raving about both Vetri http://www.eatinglv.com/2019/01/vetri/

And cipriani

I think one reason for that is that the inflated comp value then gets deducted as a marketing expense before the casino pays the State its cut.

This is not correct. Food comps have nothing to do with state gaming tax.

I will apologize when I’m having my old fashioned before my burger and glass of red.
