My bad for the exaggeration, you're right...

I only eat at restaurants that have at least 10 stars on Yelp.

Only 5-Michelin-star Chinese restaurant in North America.

Expect to spend $150 for dinner per person AND feel like you got your money's worth.

But only if you like gourmet fine dining.

We had the 5-course Peking Duck dinner and an amazing combo dessert, morello cherry center with creamy core around it and red chocolate candy crust.

Going back there every trip.

Best in town AINEC.
This place has EVERYTHING!

Peking Duck, Rubber Ducks, Ducky from "Pretty in Pink", Dan Cortese.

To be fair, Wing Lei did have a Michelin star, until they stopped rating restaurants in Las Vegas a while ago. They also have 5 stars from the Forbes Travel Guide (which means nothing to me, but might to some other people)

My wife and I enjoy the place - service is good, lots of "safe" items on the menu if you're not feeling adventurous. Pricey, but compared to other spots at the Wynn/Encore, not noticeably out of line. I'd feel fine taking my cousins from rural Wisconsin there, if that makes sense. (Potstickers are very good) OTOH, Leon (of video poker trip reports fame) isn't a fan at all, so YMMV.

I didn’t mean to hate on Wing Lei or Nozsr, just wanted to point out a clear misunderstanding.

FWIW, I don’t really get the Peking Duck hype in general. That’s something that never really impressed me anywhere, not even at Tim Raue’s restaurant. Even though that place has 2 Michelin stars and his interpretation of Peking Duck is their signature dish. But maybe I was already p***** off because they don’t include it in their dinner menus so guests have to order it as an additional course.

Heading to Venetian for a couple nights, I heard they closed all the Batali places, are there new restaurants in those spots? Anything worth trying? Did Cut last time and was excellent, thanks.

I know everyone was just hating on it, but any recs where to get Peking duck reasonably close to strip for decent price?

I haven't eaten enough Peking duck that I am a connoisseur, but I know Chang's on Decatur has Peking duck, and I have had it there, and I enjoyed it.

Argh sorry - missed that this was fine dining, not casual. Definitely not Chang's, lol. I don't think we have much Chinese fine dining off strip so would stick w Wynn frankly.

Looking for recommendations for the best higher end Italian restaurants outside of Carbone. On or off the strip is fine.

Thanks!

I don't think anything has opened yet, but they're putting Factory Kitchen (Italian restaurant that's in LA) into the B&B place. Don't know what's going into the other two spots.

Factory Kitchen is scheduled to open in December.

A pizzeria called “Sixth + Mill” has been announced for next Spring in the Otto space.

Not sure what happens to Carnevino’s location.

Coming out to Vegas with the wife for her 30th Bday next weekend, she wants to do STK for her birthday due to vibe alone. We usually always go with SW or Cut but im willing to try something different. Is STK a good choice? Shes more interested in a fun/"hip" environment I think. Any other good places similar to this you would recommend over STK? Weve also eaten at Andreas last couple of times and really enjoyed that.

Based on my experience, STK is a perfectly fine high end steakhouse.

There are two reasons why I won’t go back unless somebody else pays. I don’t like the dark environment where you can barely see your food. And I am not going to steakhouses in that price range that often that I really need to have more than 3 in my “rotation”.

But if your wife wants to do STK and food isn’t even a priority, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with going there imo.

Thanks for the response. I am the same way I dont really love eating in the dark and dont love the club type atmosphere but Id like to try something different than SW although thats tough for me to do. The more I look into it im thinking Rose Rabbit Lie might be something more enjoyable. Any opinions there? Looks like a fun place just by some quick browsing.

B&B was short for Batali & Bastianich. The place was shut down along their other two restaurants at Venetian (Carnevino and Otto) when they found out the former of the two guys is a sexual predator.

Batali had already divested himself from the company (as much as that is even possible, I guess), but V/P decided for their reasons they don't want to have anything at all to do with him and what he started, even if he's no longer an active participant. MGM has not made the same decision, as they're still opening Eataly at Park MGM. Smart money says V/P's decision wasn't solely based on Batali being a predator.

Smart money says somewhere in the contract that you're not allowed to be a bigger ****weasel than Sheldon, so he had to go.

Geez - you, gobbo, and another good (foodie) friend of mine all really liked this place. I went the other night w my wife and it was wildly mediocre. I'm really curious to hear your TR.

The food was fine but hit-or-miss with nothing spectacular, the service was friendly but otherwise atrocious, the guy tried to sell me a cabernet to pair with pretty delicate tapas like lolwat and when i asked for a rioja he suggested one and it was super cheap and drinkable but not good at all, and we really found the whole experience to be much too expensive for what it was. Felt like it was trying really hard to be fine dining but the staff was just not even close. Also super weird was I asked about one of the sherries and the waiter was like "oh let me get the somm to describe it to you" -- OH THERES A SOMM? MAYBE WHEN I ASKED ABOUT WINE THAT WOULDVE BEEN A GOOD TIME TO BRING THAT UP

Walked in and saw a friend and his wife there. When we compared notes afterward we had ordered almost completely different things. He had a solid experience as well, so maybe we just ran ultra bad and **** the bed on the ordering.

Left thinking I'd go back (I guess?) but won't be excited about it, that's for sure.

we just did the tasting menu and a couple of beers each, food was outstanding, service seemed perfectly good to me (but then as a brit my expectations are probably somewhat lower)

without spoiling my TR, the outstanding dishes for me were the croquette, the pork rib curry and the montadito, but everything we had was very good

Yeah I think you just had a bad experience, Wyman. I posted the card to the owner on my twitter, text him and tell him what happened and next time I'm sure he'll take good care of you.
