There are a lot of extra cash games and small tournaments inside the rio during the WSOP???
That is pretty accurate..I'm sure you meant hotel priCes and not priZes.
For me, the best thing about Vegas Poker in June is a lot of the casinos have special poker tournament series', with buy-ins in the $150-$600 range for us mid-level tournament players.
Downtown, check out The Golden Nugget Grand Series and the Binion's Dog Days of Summer series.
On/Near the Strip, check out the Aria, Wynn, Venetian, The Orleans, Planet Hollywood, etc for their tournament offerings from late May to early July.
Lots of great $150-$600 tournaments, with excellent structures, for those of us who can't afford the WSOP $1,500 buy-ins..
