Best sushi (reasonably priced) on the strip? Staying mid strip and looking to grab some for lunch

All on strip is 3.5 imo. Super expensive. I haven't tried sushi samba though. Almost worth it to cab back and forth to ayce sushi. (Jjanga or Goyemon)

If you have to have sushi on strip probably go with blue ribbon in cosmo.

I enjoy lobster but fast food lobster seems kinda sketch. (I'll admit that lobster corn dog thingy looks good.)
Unless you enjoy your lobster nice and chewy...pass.

Trattoria nakamura-ya.

Very interesting Italian Japanese fusion dinner. Bruschetta (anchovy oil w mozzarella and basil; spicy roe w tuna; wasabi octopus) was decent. Uni tomato cream linguine was great. And we got the kurobuta tonkatsu stuffed with basil and cheese, which was really tasty as well.

Ran to the bathroom before I left and there was a cockroach

I'm sympathetic because in that shopping center there are a ton of restaurants. The waitress was horrified when I told her (discreetly). But I'm a little bummed to say the least. Have heard good things about the miso carbonara, so if and when we go back, that'll for sure be on the list.

Rolling smoke is a popular answer itt - good bbq. They have one of the best burgers in Las Vegas, will put you in a food coma though. Damn tasty.

Doesn't really matter. Preferably not sushi or noodles. Had yonaka and monta the past two days.

Edit: and easy to get there would be a plus and not have to sweat getting back in time

I was going to recommend rolling smoke too. But ditto on food coma. Don't want that coming back from dinner break.

That curry place by monta is good, but also japanese haha.

I would use the break for a slightly different kind of rolling smoke, then anything and everything is good

They change often AFAIK. It's a $20 tasting menu with one choice and a few tiny things. They're mostly french style pastries that are extremely light. Don't know what else to say.

I will be mostly grinding. Rio /Aria/venetian. Looking for the best places to go on breaks. Preferably in casinos and walking distance.

Underwhelming dinner at Bachi Burger on Windmill.

Pickles were ok, but the guy who brought them to the table couldn't even identify one of the vegetables. He shrugged and was like "I asked them before and they mumbled something I couldn't understand." lolwat? Half the pickles (3 of the 6 types) were pretty sour (eggplant, radish, and some kind of gingery onion -- the others were cucumber, spicy seaweed, and garlic). The pickled garlic was pretty solid, very nutty.

Pork belly bao were good. Wife's comment "eh, Momofuku's were a lot better, but maybe that's not fair." lol

Burgers: Split the Miyagi-san and the Banh-Mi. First bite of Miyagi-san was great with the sesame and the onion rings. But honestly subsequent bites were good-not-great. Banh-mi was overwhelming imo due to the curry. We got through half the burger and just decided to pass on the other half.

Took a PB & Chocolate milkshake to go, and the waitress brought it in a to go cup and then disappeared for like 15 minutes, never bringing the check. There's a reason we ordered that to go! Anyway, milkshake was too thin for my liking (I like thick shakes) but tasted good.

Wife's comment leaving was "that was fine, but I don't really need to go back." I feel the same way.

there is a new place (big white building) on Sahara, maybe charleston, on the west side of town... Crabs and shell fish or something like that, has anyone tried it? (not the boiling crab)

So far this trip I have been to 4 places for casual/ non-expensive dining. The rest have been paid for by work and a bit higher end.

Dinner @ Yardhouse in Town Square - Epic beer selection and good food. 2 pints of their recommended lager and a tasty burger cost me $35 + tip

Lunch @ Maggiano in Fashion Mall - 1 pint beer and some good/ filling pasta set me back $27 total

Dinner last night @ Cabo (@ the Strip) - Chicken Fajita Special including 2 pints of Stella equated to $42 including $5 tip

Lunch Buffet @ M Casino - don't know the price (forgot) but I think it was something like $15 including soda. Food selection was very good

On strip, Pampas at PH is fine, but make sure you get some sort of GroupOn or some other deal. You can pretty much always get BOGO.

Off strip, Texas de Brazil & Fogo de Chao are both pretty good. Don't have a real preference between the 2. Fogo closer to strip.

+1 for Bachi's averageness. The concept sounded good and I went a couple times when it first opened, wasn't impressed.

I made a return trip to the Bachi near Red Rock--had a really great experience there in 2012--last month and I was monumentally disappointed. The food was pretty average for the price point, but it was the service that was terrible. Our server had a long beard and some pretty funky B.O., and we waited well over 10 minutes for him to approach our table of four. We waited another 10 min for drinks, and another five to get a food order in (his other two tables somehow had him in the weeds).

I'll never go back.

I live fairly close to Bachi in Summerlin, seems to have had a steady decline in quality of food and service.

Just down the street from Bachi, Via Brasil seems a very good steakhouse.
