it was pretty good. prefer it over the slider truck. the fries were bomb and they give you a nice aioli to dip them in along with the ketchup

i think i have to try the truck again. i didn't really like it, but when i went it was windy as **** and it was my first food truck experience ever. would probably be a really great place to stop by on a summer night.

One place that hasn't been mentioned yet is Ping Pang Pong in the Gold Coast.

It is always packed with Chinese people, so you know it is legit.

yeah that place is great but you need to be into authentic chinese food...i like to think i have wide-ranging tastes but i turned down several of the plates that they brought us, i guess i don't like "real" chinese!

Very legit indeed. It is always 95% asian customers. Ive seen Minh ly there a lot. I have eaten at ppp's over a dozen times for dinner & every time it has been excellent. Sesame shrimp rolls, lamb chops, gobo beef, & kung pao ftw. I would skip lunch as that has been the only bad meal ive had there (from the carts the push around)

Another Place to add is Ka Sushi (I believe also known as The Ka) in Henderson. It's on Green Valley Parkway. Their Sun Devil roll is probably my favorite roll of all time.

Mesa's cioppino is very good and concur on the tenderloin.

Yeah, you had the Dim Sum there. The first time I had dim sum it was there, and I wasn't familiar with it and liked a few things a lot, but wasn't ready for it I suppose. I had dim sum one other time and liked it more because I was ready for it, but having the other dim sum I realized that the Dim Sum at Ping Pang Pong was far superior...thus I would like to try it again.

The Oyster Bar at Palace Station:

Surprisingly good Louisiana style seafood dishes.

You sit at the bar and they cook your food right in front of you. There is often a line because there aren't that many seats.

Yea. Not like anything was awful but not one thing was really good. Perhaps it is because the bar was set so high from all my other dining experiences there previously. Anyhow I am just going to stick with dinner from here on out.

not sure if this thread is supposed to be used for putdowns, but i finally made it to due forni tonight (new authentic italian pizza place on NW side) and was thoroughly disappointed. settebello is strictly superior in price and quality. grimaldi's also makes a much better pie.

second (fifth?) the ping pang pong recommendation.

for ethiopian food, abyssinia near the orleans is damn tasty and very different than your typical dinner. they're also open super late.

this is true, though i concede that my attention span in searching for top quality ramen lasts only as long as it takes to find a kaiten sushi

El Nopal is surprisingly good Mexican food, especially for the price. It's upstairs at the Stratosphere, so it's off the beaten path, but worth checking out for a good, quick lunch.

+1 For Ichiza...I've only been there once, and right now I'm having a tough time figuring out why I haven't been there many times since.

+1 also for Grimaldi's. I think that place is pretty underrated here. I also love Metro Pizza, but I can't remember what the LVL consensus is on them either. Meatballs, mushrooms, and garlic...if you don't like it, well then to hell with you.

Also, just went to Los Tacos on W Sahara today (there's also a location on E. Charleston I believe). Delicious.

Looking for a decent Hibachi place that is a bit cheaper then Benihana, or at least, better. I moved from rural, VA, and my BFE town had a great Hibachi place, and I sort of miss it. Not really hating on Benihana, as it was decent, but didn't really enjoy it as much as I had hoped.

Also, I would consider cheeseburgers my favorite food, and I've been to a ton of places out here, and somewhat embarrassed to admit Fuddruckers is one of my favorite burgers, lol. In terms of "not a chain" I take Burger Bar, the classic, and the Kobe Beef, not a huge fan of any of the fries there to be honest, but didn't hate them either.

Haha, with all these foodies around I was definitely hesitant to write that, but hey, it is what it is.

Thank you for the tip, probably going to check this out this weekend, I have been craving it for a while now.
