I actually just had Ellis Islands 6.99 1/2lb angus burger with ciabotta bread and steak fries a few nights ago and it was super solid.

Need a few suggestions for off-strip lunch spots that cater to special dietary needs I.e low salt. Vegan places might be helpful too.

I haven't read any reviews about Yayo Taco, which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. It looked good. IIRC, it is by the UNLV campus. I plan on checking it out next week when I am in Vegas.

P.S.-I am coming out to Vegas again, and my first few times, I did not venture too far off the strip for eats. This thread has given me a Word document a few pages long about places on and off the strip. Much appreciated!

Huge fail by you. Elite burgers.

Was just at Peppermill for breakfast. That place is so awesome.

My 1st date with my wife started with lunch at Peppermill. We've been back on both anniversaries of that day.

Never for breakfast, though. How is their breakfast? Maybe will do that this year instead.

On another note, went to dinner @ Ginseng last night, Korean BBQ place on south end of the strip. Don't really want to call it fine dining, even though I believe the tab was $505 for 11 people (a business associate of my dad's from Taiwan loves this place & apparently takes his people there every year at CES).

Definitely an interesting experience. Meat getting cooked on the table, all kinds of random soups & sides & alcohol everywhere.

Recommend the roast beef, whatever kind of fish we had, & the soup that seemed kind of like wonton soup (the one guy ordered everything in a language I don't speak, so I can't be any more specific than that).

Anyone been to Nittaya's Secret Kitchen? It's a cool fusion mix of Thai & Tapas and everything we had was spot on.

Vegan spots: Rainbow's End (on E. Sahara); Pura Vida (the best vegan spot in LV, but currently closed while relocating to an inknown new location); Go Raw (Henderson location much better than the LV location); Bronze Cafe.

Other spots with vegan options: Settebello Pizza (Summerlin and The District); Dom DeMarco's Pizza (Summerlin); Kona Grill (Boca Park); Noodle House (Chinatown) (and Noodle House 2 in Spring Valley on Ft. Apache); Joyful House (Spring Mountain); Veggie House (Spring Mountain); India Mint Bistro (E. Flamingo); and Poppy Den (Tivoli Village).

I've heard Komol has a good vegetarian/vegan menu. It's a Thai place in the same plaza as Lotus of Siam (and some critics say it's better than Lotus - I'd say it's close, not better, but at least there's never a wait).

Place is really solid. Solid prices and pretty authentic. Very nice servers also.

In the "specialty burger" category (and $15 at that), the Morning After burger at Batali's new B&B Burger and Beer right next to the Venetian poker room is one of the best burgers I can remember having. Had two while I was there. Fries aren't very good, though.

What are some good breakfast options if we are staying at Aria? Not looking to pay five star prices and would do fine with a breakfast sandwich/breakfast burrito/coffee kind of place?

across the street at the Miracle Mile Mall there are lots of specials for breakfast.

I particularly like Lombardi's. Nice atmosphere, and pretty cheap when I went there.

My last trip to Vegas the wife and I went to Bachi Burger in Summerlin after seeing it on DDD and it was pretty amazing; right down to the milkshake.

Going again in June with another couple and aren't opposed to Bachi again, anyone have places they like better?

BTW, I had my first Earl of Sandwich experience here in FL a few days ago and it was as good as advertised. We'll definitely visit the one in PH, as we'll be staying across the street at Aria.

I didn't see this before I posted, thanks. I'll be checking out Bobby Flay's new place this summer.

If you want casino coffee shop at non-Aria prices, walk over to Monte Carlo.
