My feeling is that if they can get decent bread, that's more than half the battle. But good bread seems to be a big hurdle.

The Vietnamese sandwich shops don't seem to have a problem though.

Thx, will check out Mulberry when I'm in the area. I'm moving office from SW to the Strip, so I am thrilled to have a bunch of these options like Cuginos back again. Way more Chinatown and Downtown lunches too.
I used to live in Monmouth County but grew up going to Ocean City.

Angelo’s right near Wonderland Pier was the one closer to me. IIRC correctly it was also my favorite. It might have changed over the years but walking past Mulberry smelled like walking past Angelo’s and found slices very similar to what I remember.

YMMV, some may view them as so thin they are skimpy but I always enjoy them greatly.

Funny, me too, where were you located in Monmouth (Neptune here)? I'm sure we can compare notes on those places too. I spent a week every summer growing up playing every mini-golf course known to man; riding my bike on the boardwalk with my grandfather; and eating Mack n Manco's, Johnson's Caramel Corn, and Mint Chip ice cream from Creamland. My mom was a big fan of Dot's Pastries. I don't remember Angelo's, but I still get down to the area occasionally on biz trips to AC -- I'll look it up.

Sea Bright

Yeah loved the Johnson’s Caramel Corn. Also used to get the fudge and macaroons from I forget where. They used to have the penny candy store near the three miniature golf courses.

I’m biased but kids today will never know the fun we had before technology

Went to Yukon Pizza, it’s Ok but probably not going back.

I got the Leon. I’m normally just a cheese pizza guy but they only have novelty pies

My do not return list:
Yukon
Cuginos
Brooklyn Best

Will return:
Mulberry Street in Resorts World

I’m with you scotch, if you can’t start with a good cheese, or pepperoni or sausage pie it’s not for me. Double zero pie has some good ratings, but it could not be more west coast. Their pepperoni is described as: “vodka sauce, fior di latte, chili crunch, aged pepperoni, basil, EVOO”

I could not run farther away from that place. I’m plenty happy to order a white pie or add minced garlic or sopressata but you need to earn that order with a solid basic pizza.

Yeah man, I just want a large cheese pie. And to please leave it in oven a little longer even if my name isn’t Dave Portnoy.

I like a good white pie too

Back on Jersey after a beach day I’d stop by this place and get myself a slice variety pack. Maybe three plains, one pepperoni, and one white. And they’d put it in oven and have it sizzling

Might try Verrazano next in my Vegas search

Awe don’t get upset, it’s just a difference of opinion and it’s ymmv on what someone is looking for

It was good, but since I don’t indulge in mass carbs like that often I just want my simple but good NY cheese pizza. And I’ll only go to where I can get it.

I will say though that the Margherita pizza at Balla in Sahara was tremendous

Yukon sells NY style pizza by the slice too. It’s literally at the front counter next to the register

Ah I couldn’t order a regular cheese pie online, and looked like only 14” available

It was good but it just didn’t work out between us. I like brunettes and they were selling red heads

found a hack for you nits on the strip accidentally.

at the strip Popeyes, you can order a piece and a biscuit for 2.49, so say at the Excalibur Popeyes its 13.99 for a 2 piece meal combo.
you can just get two thighs for 5 dollars instead.

Went to Taru Rockin Sushi which is next to Lamaii and Sparrow and Wolf. Top tier Japanese, easily the best Yakitori skewers I’ve had in Vegas. The pork belly one in particular is just absurd. 5 stars on Yelp and well deserved.

Some kind of seasoning. I didn’t use them but my brother said the skewers were better on their own than with the lemon. I gotta go back and get more.

While I'm not sure it breaks this stereotype, Los Arcos has very good birria, or the GOAT goat as my friend calls it. 2 friends agree with me that it's excellent, but my mom wasn't that impressed.

I eat the tacos and consomme French dip style, though I'm not sure this is proper. Rather than inflict more of my photography on innocent people, here is a picture from the web.

The ice cream at Salt and Straw was incredible, some of the best I’ve had. Have not been to Sorry Not Sorry yet to compare but there’s always a huge line there it seems
