Fuddruckers and In n Out are regional chains that have followings (well, In n Out does) and people may want to try.

I agree that true national change should be excluded.

Fuddruckers are pretty much everywhere, that's about as national a chain as they get. In 'n Out I get if someone comes from a non In 'n Out area and wants to try it. But Fuddruckers in a town with so many great burger joints now?

So many better All You Can Eat choices. Sushi Mon and Kaya to name just two. But any other all you can eat place is also better than Yama. You wouldn't go back there if you had tried any other place.

I've been to the Best of the West rib cookoff in Reno a couple of times, and Memphis BBQ has been consistently awesome. I went to the location on Rainbow while in Vegas for a weekend, and was disappointed. The meat was quite dry, like it had been under a heat lamp forever (maybe it was).

Small sample size...also, I think I posted a question somewhere on 2p2 about a potential law in Vegas requiring meat being held at a certain temp as opposed to going from the smoker to the customer at the festival.

I just moved back to california from Memphis... so it better be good. I am spoiled after being there and eating top of the line pulled pork for a number of years... luckily I dont have a stomach the size of rhode island. the world championships of BBQ is amazing to see in person... right on the banks of the Mississippi river

Meh, mini-TR from Hash House:

Got the $3 coupon for $25 off that someone here suggested (ty btw). Always been meaning to go there and figured I'd use the coupon as an excuse to actually try it. Got there at like 7pm with my girlfriend. We split a beef tenderloin with palenta which was decent. For some reason our food was mixed up in the kitchen or something so we had to wait 40 minutes but I didn't care a ton, **** happens. My girlfriend got the pan-seared chicken and I ordered the Tractor Driver combo (breakfast plate). Unfortunately, I didn't clarify how they would apportion the servings (in my head I imagined I would be getting equally large servings of bacon, egg and pancake) What I got was a huuuuuuge pancake and small / regular sized orders of egg and bacon. I didn't really like my food and thought it was fairly ordinary and my girlfriend really disliked hers. We're both picky though so who knows. When she brought the check, the server offered us free cheesecake for the wait but we were both stuffed and didn't try it.
Don't think we'll be going back as it wasn't for us, but ymmv.

Subway in the Orleans. It's pretty much like every other Subway -- EXCEPT that it's open 24 hours.
Like so many of the other ones in Las Vegas. Even one out in Summerlin is.

Memphis BBQ is terrible. I gave it two tries. Famous Dave's is terrible too. I've been reluctant to try TC's. It's worth a try? I'm from the deep south and I'm pretty picky about BBQ.

The other thing I have not found is good chinese food out towards Summerlin. I've tried three places and was greatly disappointed. I thought when I moved here I would find a bunch of great new food but so far that has not happened except for the high end stuff. I'm sure it does not help that I'm in Summerlin. This thread has given me some ideas though.

Lucille's site takes reservations. Is it that busy? I've never had to make reservations for BBQ before.

HHaGG is known more for large portions than high quality. I've not been blown away by the quality of any of the few things I've tried (though I have blown away my dining companion by eating all of each--oink). I haven't had any food I didn't like, but none of it was special. And one drink special they had was downright awful (don't even remember exactly what it was, but good it was not).

which Hashouse did you go to? I do like the one off the strip, I haven't tried the one in IP.

Far far far closer to fine dining than casual, but Jaleo (tapas) in Cosmo was incredible last night.

Just curious from the locals, but is Kaizen across from the Hard Rock any good for sushi? Never seen it mentioned here, but I've been there twice with a local and thought it was decent and reasonable. Of course, I was pretty lit both times so my memories may be inaccurate.

Very useful thread which would be improved for those of us who only visit Vegas once every 18 months or so, by stating where these places actually are (especially, if they are on the strip, by stating which casino they are in or near).

Yeah, Steak and Shake's shakes are amazing (haven't tried one in South Point). I don't understand why there is a line there all the time. It's fast food. And their fries are buttsauce.

Zine at palazzo? I thought that was casual and I've gone there about 5 times in the last 3 Vegas trips I taken. Most bills for 2 people under $50 and in Vegas I consider that casual.

Did you try the elkburger? My folks, and others, have sung the praises of elk. But the timing of when I've been there has never aligned with being able to try it.

A big part of "casual dining" is quick, convenient, and inexpensive eating. It doesn't matter if it's in a chain. I don't go to Vegas to eat strange, I go for other reasons.

Also there are some chains that people in certain part of the country don't have and they can only experience them in Vegas. Also there are some chains that Vegas doesn't have that are frickin awesome and I wish they had (chick-fil-a, and to a much lesser extent five guys).

Yeah, no Chick-fil-a here is such a massive bummer.
