We did this last trip and enjoyed it.

Bouchon at Venetian- Have to take an elevator to get there, and really expensive, but it's really good too. Nice place to take someone

Grand Lux at Venetian- The breakfast here is really good, and less expensive than Bouchon. They also do a breakfast buffet that's small, but actually decent for what it is. You can get omelets made and they have all the normal stuff a buffet would have

Eggslut at Cosmopolitan- Good breakfast sandwiches, but not the healthiest. Usually there's a long line

Juice Standard at Cosmopolitan- This is a smoothie/Juice/avocado bread type place. Probably the healthiest place you'll find on the strip. They charge like $15 after tax for a smoothie tho. The offstrip locations are around 20% cheaper

For value sushi:

Sushi Neko near Decatur and Spring Mountain- Sushi Neko used to be the nuts. I still go there and enjoy it, and would definitely recommend it, but the place below has taken over for quality/value

It's Sushi on the corner of Spring Mountain and Decatur- It's Sushi has taken over imo. Every time I come here it's a better experience. The food is amazing quality for all you can eat, they have a very similar menu as sushi neko, and they've done everything they can to hook it up every time I've gone. The crab/shrimp garlic bread toast is a must try. The Korean Fried Chicken, Pad Thai chicken, all the nigiri... It's all so good. And I came here for a la carte and ordered the KFC and they gave me enough to feed 3 people. I've never had a bad experience at It's Sushi

Shokku Ramen on Spring Mountain and Valley view is a good 24 hour Ramen/fried rice place for a decent price. The large fried rice is easily enough for 2 people. And their garlic butter mushrooms are one of my favorites

Tacos el Gordo is decent, but El Dorado is hands down better.

El Dorado is connected to Sapphire Strip Club, and it's open 24 hours. The taco plates come with 3 tacos to a plate, and it's like $25 after tax and tip with rice and beans. It's expensive, but all organic and my favorite tacos in Vegas. They have a happy hour too where you can just get single tacos.

Javiers at Aria- Good tacos but even more expensive. The Javier's Chopped salad is really good here also

Casa Playa at the Wynn- Really good wagyu Carne Asada tacos. I thought the tacos were $30 last time I came here, but looks like they're only $18 on the menu. Expensive, but another cool place to take someone. The inside is a little different from most taco places

Can confirm bouchon (Venetian) and egg slut are amazing.

Last year I had chicken + waffles at bouchon which were amazing.

Eggslut is great for a great quick breakfast sandwich + coffee. The only thing I recommend is trying to beat the morning rush. The line took 20-30 min a few times when I went too late in the morning. The sandwiches at eggslut are great for a quick bite though!

You would have to get there well before they open to beat the rush.

I might be wrong but I think if you go around 7-8, line isn’t too bad. Prolly closer to 7 is safer though. The line was super annoying if you ask me for breakfast. The egg sandwiches are really good though so worth it if you have the free time.

Obviously it depends on the day/week you go, but I go 5-10 times a year and usually get there around 7:30 or 8. The line is often to the back of the hallway if not longer.

I think the line moves relatively quickly. However, even if it's it's 15 minutes, then you have to wait another 15-20 for your food.

It is really good and relatively cheap as long as you don't order alcohol, so I'll keep going back.

What’s the current recommendation for AYCE sushi? We’ve been doing Umiya for years but it was pretty meh last time.

Sakana/Neko are my current favorites. Like Biwon a lot also but that’s because it’s AYCE sushi and KBBQ.

For ayce sushi:

It’s sushi on Spring Mountain and Decatur, I’d say is the best right now for value and quality. Sushi Neko is second and they both have very similar menus. Both use less rice on their nigiri than almost all other places I’ve been to

Places like sushi kaya (5 mins from strip) sushi goyeman, (10 mins from strip), and sushi Koma are decent. Sushi koma and goyeman started making the rolls really fat with rice after the first couple, so I didn’t go back. If you’re mixing it up tho those aren’t bad choices

It’s sushi is definitely worth a try. I’ve taken 5-10 people there and every single one said it was the best AYCE they’ve ever had. I’ve taken people who don’t like sushi and they loved the things they did eat.

Neko is number 2 if they’re busy tho

Pro move at bouchon is to order the pastry special before you order drinks. They sell out quickly but they are always between good and great, monkey bread special is a particular standout.

Anyone been to Casa Di Amore? Any other suggestions for Italian?

Capo’s is great for Italian, vibe and everything, highly recommend. Also, for something fancier I like Gaetano’s a lot, and they often have a Groupon available.

I went to It's Sushi and didn't understand the hype. It was fine, no complaints, but felt kind of average except for a couple of the nigiri I tried. Not as good as Sakana. Maybe I was there on an off night and I'll try it again. I live right in the area now and it's hard not to stuff my face with all the amazing food in chinatown.

Sakana and Sushi Neko have literally the exact same menu except for a maybe a couple different things. I haven't been to either in a while so things might of changed. Both are really good also, but it's sushi takes the cake for me.

This is what I get from It's sushi:

Garlic Bread with Shrimp and Crab

Korean Fried Chicken

Chicken Padak which is basically just chicken with a honey mustard sauce on it. Fire tho

Seared Salmon Nigiri, Seared Fresh Water Eel Nigiri, Lemon Salmon nigiri, Red Snapper Nigiri, Octopus Nigiri,

]

Baked Mussels

I'm not big on beef but my friend gets Bulgogi and always says its really good

I pretty much get the same thing every time I go. The other stuff may be sub par, but I wouldn't know. Hard to go wrong with the stuff above imo

I'm having a mental block about a sushi place taking over a former carl's jr. location being decent.

The pro move is going to sakana/neko’s sister location nabe and having ayce hot pot + sushi.

Also,+1 to its sushi being decent but nothing special.

The real answer to the “where to get AYCE sushi during WSOP” question is Jjanga. It’s great and a short walk from Bally’s back door, the others aren’t worth the extra money for an Uber or even gas

Just so I understand...

All the food pr0n was shot at It's Sushi, and it's all on the AYCE menu?

Love the pics in the food report, and the non sushi stuff looked great, but based on the sushi pics, I’m going to Neko/Sakana/Biwon still instead of It’s Sushi as its sushi wasn’t impressive looking. I tend to fill up on the sushi and not the appetizer fillers.

I was at Mandalay Bay for 2 nights earlier this week - they have a little place called BBQ Mexicana that has burritos using burnt ends BBQ that was cooked at a sister sit down restaurant right across from it - owned by same person. Really good. Only open from 11-4 each day so as not to compete with the restaurant at night.
