My wife and I are headed out on Friday.....I catch up on this thread every once in awhile and have kind of an ongoing list of places that have been mentioned.

Any quick hits for maybe the current best happy hour value spots (food/drink), best brunch spots, best value fancier meals?

We have a car a few of the days so that's not a big deal.

As a sample here are some of the things on an ongoing keep note we have that I've seen mentioned in here or on Troopers vlog haha.

Serano
Echo & Rig
Herbs and Rye
SW steak
Bagelmania
https://kinnarathailv.com/
Partage
Bazaar Meat
Sparrow and Wolf
Edo
Main Street Provisions
Esther's
Cleaver
Crunchies corn dogs
85 degree bakery
888 KBBQ
Sakana
pink box donuts
Glaze donuts
Soul Belly BBQ
Sul & Beans
Weiss Deli
Divine Dosa LV
Buldogis Mac & Cheese Quesadilla

Bagel Cafe is better than Bagelmania or Weiss Deli imo

Both donut places are excellent, you must get the Apple Fritter at Glaze, it’s unbelievably good.

I haven't played there in forever so it could be gone, but Red Rock used to have a ton of happy hour specials (I specifically remember the big plate of chicken nachos for ~$5)

Insider factoid: Universally, the Apple Fritter is the go to "use all the remnants" pastry. The fried rice of donuts if you will.

Brother and (Gluten Free) GF will be working and staying at South Point for the horse show Nov 17-21. They won't have a car. Any South Point restaurants stand out, good or bad?
Any nearby places to hit?
What are the delivery services like in LV these days?

The deli has Bagel Cafe Bagels so that’s great, however gfGF ain’t gonna be down. I hear the cafe has good Chinese food, ain’t never had it myself. And they do have an open buffet that is usually busy. Steak and Shake as well. Steakhouse, Italian place, prime rib place and a Mexican place, so South Point has tons of options. Some decent stuff around there, Steiners which is pretty close has some of my favorite bar food in Vegas and tons of DoorDashable things close to there.

Realized Herbs and Rye was on the list for their happy hour. Any chance of getting bar seating or any seating without a reservation. All 5-8PM reservations are filled online....figured maybe we would show up at 5PM for a bar seat and give it a try.

I could just live there. The Chinese at the Coronado Cafe is better than most Chinese restaurants. Also the buffet. Easiest comp in town. I don't think I've ever paid for a buffet there.

I live by the South Point and there are a number of good restaurants just 5 minutes away but the no car thing kills that.

The shopping center at Cactus and Decatur has Mama Bird Southern Kitchen, Spaghetty Western, Hola Cocina, Dragon Tiger Noodle Co. and Rise and Shine for a nice breakfast option.

Walk across the street from South Point is Yanni's Greek and a Capriotti's if you want a sandwich. Go east down Silverado Ranch and you have Big Jerk Caribbean and Slaters 50/50 burgers a minute away and keep going a few more minutes and you have literally any type of cuisine you can imagine by the time you hit Eastern. Windy City beef and pizza for the Chicago style Italian beef sandwich, Island Grill for Hawaiian BBQ, Taco y Taco, Grimaldi's Pizza.

Since the olden days, they've paved some streets, put in stoplights and crosswalks.

Still, people driving down the Strip, in light traffic, tend to speed a lot and are not pedestrian friendly. People crossing the street often underestimate the speed of oncoming traffic six lanes over, which is NOT going to brake unless there is a red light.

Lol I had this immediate indignant feeling like “hey there was good sushi there” and then I looked at a map and tried to find our sushi spots and it was nope, nope, nope. Most of our sushi when we lived in NJ was when we went into the city. We are so spoiled here in LV - I can never move back east now! Glad you’re enjoying.

Going to AYCE sushi spots is probably the #1 reason I want to go to Vegas. Poker, gambling, other food....that stuff I can come close to the same at home or nearby. But I don't have anywhere near the options of quality AYCE sushi places anywhere near me on the east coast. Especially for the price point of $22-30.

Vegas is definitely spoiled.

For AYCE sushi everyone should try out It's Sushi on the corner of Decatur and Spring Mountain. Sushi Neko was my previous favorite, but this has taken over. The shrimp garlic bread, Korean Fried Chicken, Padak Fried chicken, and Beef Bulgogi are excellent for all the non sushi lovers. The Seared lemon salmon nigiri is perfect and they use minimal rice for the nigiri just like Sushi Neko.

Definitely the new spot
