So I was bored and I pretty much read this whole thread. The pizza place at the Cosmo is amazing. The top 5 buffets are Wynn, Cosmo, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood, and the M. Someone mentioned that they miss Checkers out here but they have one now very close to Boulder Station on Boulder Highway. Steak N Shake is pretty much the worst..........I guess they are crowded due to cheap prices. Their shakes are pretty good but stay away from the food. It seems like most of you know good food and I will definitely try some new places after reading this thread.

I've only had steak and shake in Illinois but it is definitely not the worst. The burgers are solid with some pretty good quality toppings including nice thick bacon. Certainly not the best but deserves some credit.

No, it's passable. But it's certainly not world-class bbq.

I'm all about saving money, but I feel like this thread shouldn't be about the fact that you can get unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks at the Olive Garden on Flamingo. My suggestion is to try to keep this thread to local, non-chain establishments.

Anyone have recommendation where to find cookies on or near strip? I am thinking of the big one person dessert type. Thanks!

Anyone ever try the Chicago Deep Dish Pizza at the Chicago Brewing Co in the 4 Queens? My buddy told me it's a really great pizza but the dinning room/bar is sometimes filled with cigar smoke. Any other places in Vegas that serve great Deep Dish Pizzas?

memphis bbq is hit and miss. I go to the one on warm springs.
the pulled pork is not worth ordering. the brisket is good about 80% of the time. ribs about 60%. I usually find the best quality on weekends and after dinner hours.

Why? If I'm in Vegas and hungry, I don't care if a place is a chain or not, as long as it's good. Chain snobs are funny - this one gal suggested we eat at a certain place. While there, she kept going on about how great it was - until I told her it was a chain.

CBC deep dish not that good. Better than like Pizza Hut, but whatever. Only real passable deep dish in this city I've found is Rosati's.

That's fine. I've eaten at many chain joints in Vegas, and I'm not saying that you should or shouldn't, and I'm not a "chain snob" at all. I'm just saying that if I'm looking to find out about casual places to eat in Vegas, I might search this thread, and reviews of Outback and KFC aren't really what I'd be looking for.

But if I'm wrong, so be it, and please carry on. Sorry for the derail.

Wanting to eat cheap and quick, the fiancee and I went to a local CiCi's today. The cinammon rolls are definitely better warm.

The fiancee has flown on trips without me and there's a Cinnabon in the airport. We stopped there one time so she could get eat and she gave me a bite of their cinammon roll. Wasn't impressed. They were okay, but not as great as she made them out to be.

Cinnabon is about the frosting, not the roll. This is why pro fatties get minibons with extra frosting.

Wasn't impressed with the frosting either. Not being a long time foodie, I don't have the vocabulary to explain why.

I'm no foodie either, but I believe it can be summed up as "dip the big spoon in the 50 gallon tub of crisco, mix with sugar, slather it on bread-like product, serve."

It seemed okay to me. Sounds like you haven't many varieties of pizza, because I've had a lot that was worse.

Louis CK describes it perfectly with cinnabon. I always feel very guilty eating one and am mad at myself after I finish it.

The question is, why the hell do I ever have another one???!!!

Yes you are. Being from there myself I have learned that no part of the country can duplicate the great deep dish pizza. Even thin pizza is pretty shady in most other places around the US.

For casual dining is there really any point in eating anything but Lotus of Siam and Sen of Japan? I think not.
