For our last dinner in town, we went to trattoria nakamura-ya, an Italian Japanese fusion little place on spring mountain.
Green mussels served escargot style was a neat concept with 3 different sauces with a mussel, and all were piping hot and oily, but good flavor. One was sweet miso (very subtle), one was spicy cod roe (not spicy at all), and the best one was parsley butter. I could eat 20 of these. Also got bruschetta 3 ways. Traditional mozzarella and basil was great, as was the Tuna puree. But the octopus avocado with Wasabi mayo was the best one.
My friend was very happy with their signature fish, uni linguine in a tomato cream sauce. Small pieces of uni flavored the whole dish.
I ordered a medium rare outside skirt steak, and it was simply prepared and great. Very tender high quality, and the balsamic soy was perfect.
Finished with a standard green tea Gelato to round out a great meal.
Sad that tomorrow is my last day.
