Bonchon is definitely on my list for the best wings I’ve ever had. It’s a chain though. Big Dog’s Draft House also has phenomenal wings.

Outside the box wings:

I am a big fan of the duck wings from wicked spoon, and you can fit a lot of them stacked in all the to-go containers you get for $20. Excellent value play. A shitload of wings and some gelato. I'll dig up the picture from the last time I played the "how much **** can I fit in these containers" game

Also Big Wong salt and pepper wings. God damn might need to get some of those going tonight.

Jessie Rae's BBQ, on Valley View just north of Russell Road, is excellent. I've been stopping by semi-regularly after work. Parking is limited, and it's a small place, but if you can find room the food is phenomenal.

DE Thai on 3rd St. is an awesome little Thai place. Their pad prik khing with crispy pork brings back memories of Chada (RIP). Everything I've ever had there has been really fresh and well made. Definitely more of a pickup/delivery place as the place is tiny and only seats 4 tables, and now only 2 with social distancing.

Lamaii still exists, no? I had Archi’s on Rainbow a couple weeks ago and it was excellent. Went with a couple buddies so we got a bunch of dishes, and the pad thai, pad see ew, yellow curry and spicy basil were all fantastic.

If you haven’t had the double cooked pork belly at Le Thai yet, go get that ASAP. It’s absurd.

Anyone been to The Taco Stand yet?

I had the crab fat fried rice at Chada Street, and I’ve had it at Lamaii, but I’m not sure I ever got it at actual Chada. It was wonderful every time I’ve had it. Never tried or noticed spicy oysters on the menu, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

What was absurd was the time I ordered take out from Le Thai and there was hundreds of human hairs in my red curry. Like one of the sous chefs had shaved their head into a to go container.

I would never eat at that dump.

They didn’t even charge extra for it and here you are complaining about a freebie.

Imagine going to a restaurant that is also a barber shop then later calling it a dump.

knivesout - you're just pissed you got takeout and weren't able to chuck your Thai iced tea into the kitchen.

Bonchon at restaurant are phenomenal, they do not travel well in my experience. Wing King didn’t impress me when I tried it.

Wings in general don't travel well.

Pro tip: get them unsauced, sauce on side and sauce them once you get them home. Toss in sauce to prevent excess sogginess during travel.

This seems like pretty good advice right here.

Anyone else love the cajun wings at Taphouse on West Charleston?

I also love the twice baked cajun wings at Big Dogs draft house.

They are fairly different despite the name, but both great.

Not a "big name" sushi joint.

Not a "big hotel" sushi joint.

Not an "all you can eat" or "low-priced" sushi joint.

Just the freshest, cleanest-tasting sushi.

Somewhere in the area.

(There used to be a great sushi place half a block or so directly east of the Stardust. Now there is no Stardust and there is no great sushi joint there any more.)

Can any of you fellow anasakiasis-ridden nematode munchers recommend a restaurant suitable for a sushi-lover's dinner?
