Haven't been in a few years, just saw that the Pub in Monte Carlo closed! They have so many beers! What is the closest thing to that around?

Thanks in advance.
Get the crispy rice (Nam Kao Tod) as a starter. It's amazing and worth the trip. Love the Tom Kah Kai soup and Tom Yum Prawn soup.

For dinner, I love the Drunken Noodle Grouper, but don't see it on the menu now. I do see Drunken Noodle Sea Bass, Seafood, or Soft Shell Crab, so maybe one of those?

All the food I've tried has been good.

EDO: Very nice atmosphere and excellent, attentive, knowledgeable wait staff. The food was fantastic. We did the tasting menu, and our favorites were the bikini (best grilled cheese you will ever try) and the croquetas (at least I think that's what they were called). The croquetas had a tuna/sesame concoction and the flavor was incredible. I loved the sweetbreads, but my husband is not as much of a fan. Another dish in the beginning was fantastic, too, but I don't know what it was called. It had a whipped to almost air sauce.

We had a very nice garnacha/carinena-priorat (grenache is a grape I normally don't like) for only $40/bottle -- of course we had two.

I would go back. The only downside was the annoying foursome beside us who actually criticized and critiqued everything we did -- including ordering the tasting menu and talking with the couple beside us. I'm not sure if they knew we could hear them or not, but they weren't whispering. The "leader" was a young Asian woman who was a foodie wannabe. Very annoying. I actually glared at each of them individually, and they left soon after. I wish I had just said something, but didn't want to ruin the night -- I can be pretty offensive myself when someone provokes it, and I was getting a bit tipsy. Safer to keep my mouth shut

Any top recommendations in the area of MGM for someone who hasn't tried many places? Hattie B’s is about the only placed mentioned in the last few places that I've been to.

if you’re ok with heading 2 blocks NE off the strip from MGM, you can try Cleaver for us Herbs & Rye lovers that haven’t been yet and come back with a TR?

I’ve been to Cleaver-its solid, and like their other location Herbs n Rye they have an early and late “happy Hour” (actually several hours each) where about 2/3’s of the steaks are pretty deeply discounted

Jean Philippe is out at both Aria and Bellagio. Both places are still open but have rebranded. Menu looks the same.

Mabel’s bbq was fantastic. Best bbq I’ve had in Vegas, no question. Get the fatty brisket, pork belly, beef rib ($50!!). Sides were just ok dawg.

Seriously $50 for the beef rib, and it’s just one giant rib. Somehow it’s totally worth it though? Yeah, I know.

You can get a giant beef rib at Rollin smoke for like $7

Has anyone recently been to the buffet at Mirage? Pros/cons? I can either chose that or the Bellagio buffet (more points and a bit further away).

Bellagio buffet has taken v downhill turn honestly.

Also got Mabels BBQ togo, Fatty brisket has amazing flavor, haven't tried non fatty.

Also had pork belly was banging, Turkey was really good too. They forgot my pickles/bread with my togo order which made me salty, but I'll be back for the beef ribs.

Need to compare it to the beef ribs of Via Brazil

They're incredibly good, ask for the end pieces to get maximum bark. Chopped brisket + beef ribs = whoa

Not even close to the same thing. I love rollin smoke beef ribs. As I said it’s from way higher up on the cow, so it’s much bigger with tons more meat. Again, seemed insane to me at first glance at the menu, but it was great! It’s for 2-3 people.

Like a rib roast bone? I’m intrigued.

Hey I'm sorry to just jump in like this but been sort of out of paying attention to Vegas stuff for a little while.

Have a trip coming up this weekend, anything new that is a must-hit? Apparently Lotus of Siam is the thai place now that chada is no more? Mabels > rollin smoke or no?

Lotus is excellent, and you should make reservations.

Jeezuseffingchrist...$50?!? And to think I thought I was paying too much for the 1.25lb beef rib at a place near my Houston office when I got charged $25. It was good, but would not have paid twice that amount...

And yeah, most of the Fred Flintstone beef ribs around here tend to be between a pound to pound and a half, so I would imagine what you describe is similar in size. Makes for an extra meal though since there is more than enough meat for one person at one sitting.
