Yeah Freddy's isn't good for anything except their custard and sundaes.

You're right on the custard but I think the burgers and dogs are pretty good as well. Love the Freddy's Sauce too and they have a spicy sauce as well. I'm not usually a fan of shoestring fries but these are pretty good with the sauce.

I was in LV in April and went to a Freddy's on the West Side (Charleston?) and got the Chicago Dog which I thought was damn good. Saved room for some custard which was excellent as always. They opened one about 10 miles from my house in San Diego that I get to about once a month. I'm a fan.

Malucci,

Have you had the lengua, cabeza, or buche?

Three very elite taco/burrito meats! This place sounds legit.

Made their way to Vegas from San Diego (originated in TJ I believe?)

Legit best tacos in SD - therefore have to be #1 in Vegas by a significant margin

I wonder how many grammar nits haven't eaten there because it should be Boss' BBQ, not Boss's BBQ.

Only faux grammar nits would actually have an issue with that...

Quote:
If a new syllable is formed in the pronunciation of the possessive, add an apostrophe plus s.

your boss's approval
the witness's reply
Ms. Lopez's application
Mr. and Mrs. Morris's plane tickets
St. Louis's airport
Dallas's football team
Congress's failures

If the addition of an extra syllable would make a word ending in an s hard to pronounce, add the apostrophe only.

Officer Phillips' water ski
Judge Hastings' decision
the Burroughs' condominium
Los Angeles' freeways
New Orleans' restaurants
Jesus' parables
Moses' flight from Egypt
for goodness' sake
Achilles' heel [but: Achilles tendon]

NOTE: Individual differences in pronunciation will affect the way some of these possessives are written. For example, if you pronounce the possessive form of Perkins as two syllables, you will write Mr. Perkins' kindness; if you pronounce the possessive of Perkins as three syllables, you will write Mr. Perkins's kindness. The important thing is to listen to your own pronunciation. When you hear yourself pronounce the possessive of boss as two syllables (boss's) and the possessive of witness as three (witness's), you will not be tempted to write your boss' approval or the witness' reply. Naturally, tradition should take precedence over your ear. For example, the U.S. ambassador to Great Britain is appointed to the Court of St. James's (not, as you might expect, Court of St. James).

I believe I've had cabeza or buche...whichever one was brain, and it was disgusting. I haven't had lengua. The adobada is so good I feel no need to branch out and make a catastrophic mistake.

Malucci,

Brain is sesos, and not something I prefer. Didn't see that on the list.

Lengua is beef tongue, by far my favorite. Give it a try, it's amazing.

Cabeza is head, generally super tender and delicious stewed meat. Big fan of this as well.

Buche is pork stomach. Much more tender than and not spongy like beef tripe. This is usually a really good one.

I'd recommend trying them all, but for sure give lengua a try!

i prefer cabeza over lengua, but both are great.
don't care for sesos
actually haven't had buche, but have had plenty of menudo in my time.

Only those who haven't read Strunk & White. Only those who *have* read Strunk & White (and have adopted everything in it) are permitted to post in this thread.

Temp is redundant, calling it a one-week ban already defines the ban as temporary.

Repeated for emphasis using that strong, forceful, dynamic, compelling, decisive writing style that I am so well known for which I am so well known.

Mods: ban for one week, please.

Cannot speak to the Vegas location, but concur that it was similar to S&S, even down to the extremely thin-cut fries. One order of fries was more than enough for two people IMO...

Burgers were decent but always seem excessively salty, at least at the location in North Houston that I have eaten at a few times.

Haven't been here in a while, and don't have time to read through 45 pages, so apologies if already answered previously in the thread.

I am going to Vegas next week to see the Who. Is there a consensus on the best AYCE sushi place and casual Chinese food? Thanks in advance.

Was listening to House of Carbs, (podcast with Bill Simmons food friend), David Chang said that as part of his last day of food ever, he would go to palace station for the pan roast. As an aside, he also said one time he went with David Cho who paid off people $5,000 to skip to the head of the line.

House of Carbs is great! Joe House is the man, he's been on fire picking golf majors with huge long shots. The guy knows his food too. David Chang was very interesting- so I tried the Fukuburger chicken sandwich after listening to the podcast. It was the biggest chicken sandwich I've ever had but the panko breading gave it a healthier taste that I'm used to. The garlic fries are solid there and the chicken was very high quality if you are willing to sacrifice a true deep fried taste that most fast food/ casual restaurants have.

For Chinese, Chengdu Taste imo. Pretty traditional sichuan resto (dont expect general tso's chicken etc), can't recommend mapo tofu and chili wontons enough there.

This is risky if he is expecting westernized Chinese. It is awesome, but "cold gelatinous mung bean noodles with spicy sauce" isn't on everyone's wish list.

For his ask of ayce sushi, they are all pretty much the same.
